It's a lovely-looking thing but I just could not take the risk.

QP iV is the sort of trouble I want to get myself into.

However I already have an old Maser and parts availability is bad enough for that, must be terrible on these. You could just look at it though?

Depends on what the plate is that they describe as 'very expensive'.

It really does annoy when they say this, then don't tell you what the plate is!

Sorry CdeG, I cannot remember the name of the car designer who does artwork of cars, inc. your Lexus. I thought they may be able to help that PHer in Biker Banter:

Stunning colour combination, and I love how classy Maserati interiors look - I'm just not brave enough to buy one!
My first thought was also how classy it looks and then second thought was this is one for the Brave Pill!

I am happily generally out of touch with most things, and prices especially, but I didn't realise you could spend over 2.5* thread and get a bicycle without so much as an engine.

World's gone mad.

When I was shopping for bikes it always blew my mind how much cyclists seem to spend just to save a few grams. They're better off just skipping breakfast than spending an extra £4k

It does have an electric motor though!

Fancy bicycle depreciation makes new barges look like shrewd purchases.

While I agree with your broad point, the whole 'i would want it to have an engine for that much money' always has, and remains a pretty weak argument.

A five figure mountain bike is up there with the very best that you can buy. An equivalent motorbike would be five or six times the price (at a guess, I am not into motorbikes but a quick google suggests £60,000 for something swanky). Yes you probably can get a brand new cheap motorbike for less than the Trek costs, but if you're in the market for cheap tat, a new bicycle can be had for £300

Also, that's an e-bike, so it does have a motor

ETA: to pre-empt some of the accusations that may be coming my way... yes I ride mountain bikes, no I have not, could not and would not spend anything like £12k on one, and if I were forced to it would definitely not be a Trek or an E-bike.

Replying to oneself is usually forbidden - however - the plate of the FFRR is 10 JAR. The seller reckons it's worth £7,500.

very good

one might speculate that this chaps Masser Man what has done the recent works, ran out of A4 preparing the list of stuff needed doing and our chap is backing out.

still, it runs and it drives.

what's the worst that could happen?

A beautiful paperweight. Yes, runs and drives is what you write about something that doesn’t have an MOT.

It might be fine though!
