Love that. It's in "The Business" spec and needs fake bullet holes all over the doors and an owner with a Fila tracksuit.
They are going to be holding it for some time though. There are very few people that are going to be prepared to pony up 30 large for an R107 that isn't a 500. And when those small group of people come and see it, hardly any of them will be able to stomach it's colour.
I think it is glorious and worth every penny.
Hired one with the same engine in Cape Town years ago. The chap who ran the company then took us back to the airport in his taxi-one of the 15 k Merc's above. R107's do float around but that thing really glided. If I had a garage and didn't live in a water park, I would be having a gander at that.
It's one of the few cars that I have been in and thought "This would be amazing with an EV conversion"
I was with you until the last 7 words. Any SL needs a V8 that warbles away in the background with the throttle making it a bit louder and in this case probably not moving it forward much faster. But it would feel good. They are going to be holding it for some time though. There are very few people that are going to be prepared to pony up 30 large for an R107 that isn't a 500. I suspect this is a shed but here's a cheap E61 with 11 months MOT:

Seems to have the handbrake warning light on, without the handbrake being on.

The handbrake warning light is red, whereas that is orange. I think that could be for worn pads. Maybe. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202411186...

I'm sorta looking for a reasonably powerful estate (with a side-eye on anything cheap, bargey and V8) and have come to a horrible conclusion - unless I'm very, very lucky, it's going to have to be a diesel.
Mercedes E350 estates with the 265-ish BHP diesel V6 and maybe 100-130k miles seem to be slipping into thread, with a bit of choice available... would I regret it forever?
(aka: E350s. Talk to me.)

Water pumps, thermostats, rear air bag suspension, egr/dpf/swirl flaps, different wheel sizes front to rear on some, eats suspension components, not as economical as you would expect
but comfy, good level of shove and quite big inside.
It throws a good sized bill from my indy at me every year.
ETA just had a very brief look and the W211 E420CDis I can find for sale in Germany right now are all saloons anyway. Bah.

thing was petrol powered but felt like it wasn't. Waft on another level. I was in that motor for an hour and I will never forget it.

Subframes. If they’ve not been replaced they will almost certainly need to be replaced. Mercedes E350 estates with the 265-ish BHP diesel V6 and maybe 100-130k miles seem to be slipping into thread, with a bit of choice available... would I regret it forever?

Handsome I6 E320 in green.
Judging by the difference between the screen price and advertised price it's perhaps not the investment they are suggesting.

The generously applied gung on the sills suggest previous work, still a nice looking old bus though.

I'd imagine quite a few 107 buyers are put off by the 500 being perceived as too thirsty, not that any of them are economical in any meaningful sense, but people buy these cars to dawdle about in. A good 300 can command decent money. I bought a 380 because of its spec and history and never felt I was missing out on the extra 15% or so of power that a 500 has. They are going to be holding it for some time though. Excellent,
I'm looking forward to reading the new thread where £30k is dropped on 3x 2k vehicles making them better than the children assembling them did

Hi all,
I'm not sure whether self advertising is allowed but I may or may not ( ) be selling my car due to moving back to the continent. It's currently listed slightly outside of thread budget but I'd be happy to drop it back in in case one of you is interested. If it's allowed I'll post it here, if not I won't
