Yes, although this is not one of them..idly browsing for station cars for a neighbour, the stickers on the side of this Citroen C2 tickled me. Nothing says more about a tribute to a lost one than a clean DPF.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2025041112...

At the risk of boring everyone a (non-EU) import will fix that for you.No certificate of conformity = PLG tax rate which works out about 35 quid a month roughly.

That's not boring. But we need examples. Any listed?
I was meaning just in order to cast the net wider. My interest was ovlov but MB and BMW the staple brands too of the sellers, as well as the usual Japanese manufacturers obvs.
Quoting this seller as it’s the one I know fairly close to me, I have bought from him but no other connection.
In budget Lexus

Over budget 3 series (not Euro 6 either but do petrols just need to be 4 ?)

Low mileage it says, without telling us what it actually is. The reason it's low is because the more miles you put on these early KV6s, the closer you get to the inevitable cylinder liner drop.bolidemichael said:

Edit: couple more conditions. I ain't paying no £800 a year tax and I'm probably going to have to do quite a lot of miles so 30mpg would be about the minimum.
MPG depends on your use case. My E500 used to get 31mpg on a long run, which was handy when heading up to Scotland or across France. But my typical usage returned low-20s between fill-ups. Winter seemed to decrease MPG by about 10% but I don't know how much of that was engine efficiency and how much was winter traffic. It was capable of a smidge under 40mpg when I tried driving it at lorry speed with the climate control turned off. But then you get the PH usuals grumbling "why buy a car like that and then have any interest in the MPG it can do?"
I'd suggest that any of the post-2000 V8 barges are capable of closing in on 30MPG on a long run, but if your use case is to thrash it cross country for 10 miles a day then you probably won't see that.
While my various V8 barges could all nudge at least to 30mpg on a steady motorway run none have ever averaged more than 22-23 mpg (book figure almost exactly, usually) over my lifetime use which involves weekly 260 mile motorway round trips and barely any use in traffic. My 4 litre X300 with 250bhp and 5 litre X351 with 510bhp get pretty much exactly the same fuel economy over the same usage cycle, quite impressive progress.
Best tank I've ever got from my X351 is 28.2mpg and that's a real outlier, I'd suggest any dreams of genuine 30mpg economy from any V8 are exactly that, dreams, much less some old port injected smoker barge.
If you want 30mpg genuine mixed average from a petrol with decent power I'd say your only hope is a modern direct injected engine and six cylinders at the most. I think you'd do that in a W212 E350 CGI or whatever they call that 280bhp DI V6.

I've just been looking with great sadness at the snapped door handle cable in my X300 and wondering if I can be arsed with it, it needs a few niggles sorting and I'm a lazy man. Best thing about the car is a full set of Cross Climate 2s with 5mm tread on them but they're 16" so if I'm right about the wheels on yours they're no use to you if the scrap man cometh for it.
That Daimler looks fabulous. Well bought.

I like it. Solid armrest of dreams too.

Thanks Tobinen & W00DY. Means a lot. The tyres are 16s, on the assumption that the 76p they must have cost accurately represents the wheel size.
And HOW VERY DARE YOU?

I'll keep you posted.

Genius, should you wish to trade for something acceptable (a case of Portuguese red? Actual money? A broken Daimler?), I would very much ask you hang on to them until my beast has mounted ChaCha's ramp.
Thank you and sorry

This is what I've thought about so far:
1. MINI Cooper S R53 with a reduced supercharger pulley so it makes a funny noise and Recaro heated seats. I found the one I wanted but it sold this weekend so can't have it now. There aren't any others in that spec as far as know. I would consider others but not taking base spec or standard examples that haven't had loads of branded accessories fitted - it's a cult car thing... the ones which have been enthusiast owned and loved are generally better cars than the ones which have been a third car in the same family for 15 years with barely any servicing. - in my opinion!
2. A second CL500 to go with my other one - can't find any nice ones for £5000. They're either awful basket cases for £1500 or ones which have been polished and listed at £11,995 - I need a backup car so I'm still able to leave the house if my other bad choices have let me down.
3. A tuned Saab from the late 90s. I really wanted a 'new' 900 and there is one available but I'm a little sceptical on the claim of 275hp as I'd want to see some mention of upgraded turbo and I don't like the wheels. On the other hand, if it really is 275hp it is a nice q-car. People have probably forgotten about Saabs by this stage so it would surprise people and that would be entertaining: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202504271...
4. XJR - love the way these look. They all have mega miles on them. I've driven a few jags of that era and was thoroughly impressed.
5. Citroen BX
6. 80s BMW

30mpg is tricky for most of the old barges that get posted in here, depending on where you drive. How much were you getting from your 330i for comparison?
My 2005 330i has averaged between 33 and 34mpg over the 6 years I've had it, but then I don't commute any more. But that still seems pretty reasonable to me. ingenieur said:
Time to replace the 2005 BMW 330i. I'm considering anything up to max thread. Only real condition is 4 seats (a large coupe would still be fine).
Has there been anything nice on here in the last few weeks? Alpina's or other special editions or weird low mileage things or ancient Mercs.
Edit: couple more conditions. I ain't paying no £800 a year tax and I'm probably going to have to do quite a lot of miles so 30mpg would be about the minimum.
The Rover 825i is tempting!
