should there be another thread 'This caught the eye of a barge thread poster' or do one of the other two existing threads meet the requirements and 'survivors' or 'interesting cars' could be sign posted from this thread?
You should start one, then I could post stuff like this without anyone moaning hehe

Tidy, a smidgen expensive too.
See my idea of what's reasonable is warped these days, I didn't think it was bad value

Nice.

Has to be a solid £10k overpriced and from a dealer with a reputation but it's lovely.

R171s aren't lookers are they? They make an Lexus SC430 look attractive.
Errr nothing is that bad looking
How very dare you. The SC430 is a paragon of two seated piscine perambulation, a veritable starfish amongst anenomes. I will have one..maybe soon...

I agree, looks decent value given the condition/low owners.

That's lovely, I think the velour interior was a cost option above leather and is all the better for it IMO. £24k will keep it for sale for a while I imagine.

That's amongst the best barges that have ever appeared on these pages. It just goes to show how colour sensitive the W126 is. Shame about the price.

Nice, that. The driver seat trim is a common thing as when the car isn't lowered to access height it's common for one's ham to rub against it upon egress -- particularly for the more vertically challenged.

Taken in part-ex, dealer identifies himself as such, recent receipts for AC compressor and suspension arms too. For a near 20 year old supercharged RR, that's not terrible provenance. I don't get why he doesn't just change the key fob battery though.

Last time I got given a key that 'just needed a battery' it was from a different car

ETA: Also have to say that W126 looks v nice but the prices being charged for old mercs are sometimes a bit mindboggling. Certainly one waiting for the right buyer!

I bought mine from an awfully nice chap in Birmingham, or should I say Solihull?
Very nice area, spitting distance from the Land Rover factory.
Car has been brilliant so far, very few niggles.

I came here to say exactly that. If you're selling a car you take 2 minutes to put a CR2032 in the key rather than have to explain that the key doesn't work, unless the key actually doesn't work.

Birmingham.
"Strictly sold as seen" from a dealer.

Any more red flags?

Regarding the W126, you can save an awful lot of money if you don't mind a slight deficit of alloy wheels and cylinders.

Superb. It's ripe for an engine conversion.

I'd be happy with the 3 litre lump, to be honest.

Goodness me those back seats are something else. Never been sat in??
