So the £1k XK8 (well £1300 with fees) is here and it's a mixed bag.

Positives:
Bodywork and paint remarkably good for one of these. Rust repairs in 2010/12 and donewell.
Interior much better than pics
Premium audio!
Boot opened fine, roof is sluggish, fluid needs topping up
Loads of history, looks like it went to Arun for years.

Negatives:
Rear 1/4 glass detached from mechanism so doesnt'go down right. Can be done manually.

And the big one. Gearbox fault. Fine in reverse, wants to be in 3rd to go forward. Bugger. I'll get the codes off it, there are loads of non serious things that can cause it but at 110k it's the right sort of miles for a ZF5 to play up.

Paint looks like a brand new BMW hehe

3rd is OK, will cover a good range of scenarios.

Been out in it properly now. It did smell of ATF and the symptoms and P1722 code would fit with low fluid level, so I'll take a look at that.

Few heritage issues with trim, the drivers lock works to lock the car but not unlock it so I had to break it, but I got Valet mode off and programmed the fobs back to the car so I can at least lock it now. As far as you can tell from a short drive in 3rd gear it's very lovely, if that can be resolved with fluid and fixing the leak I'll be very pleased.

It does look lovely too.

If ATF doesn't resolve it, some cars will lock into a particular gear for all sorts of limp home scenarios.

I once had a car lock itself in 6th (of 6 gears) because the turbo boost pipe had popped off as I was pulling out onto a 70mph A-road. Great, bugger all power AND the gearbox has chosen the worst possible gear for this situation hehe

Happy Friday losers.

C6 V6 essence; £12,000

https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C2020701

For that price does it come with introductions to Up'N'Down and HubNut, or a retained mechanic at Chevronics?

I'm sure it's lovely, and I don't think I've seen a V6 petrol C6 before.
Duckez-moi, monsieur!! yikes Combien??
I'm fairly sure that this was for sale privately by a chap who had recently moved to the West Country and was about £8k which is the correct price for these. Still, find another.

I got too excited and messed up the link. Sorry.
No worries, looks belting. I remember the exhaust note on these, like a WW2 fighter.

Great stuff 0a. I can't recall a one-way flight to collect a barge, though perhaps someone has before.

That DB7 has a sensible reserve and those wheels are cool.
a 152k mile Panamera is a really dumb idea isn't it?

Booked into my tuner smile

Stunning - I don’t think I’ve see one in that colour before and great that they were bold on the interior too.

Best wheels as well smile

Be an inflation adjustment. Best smoker barges under 10.

When you can’t even get a plethora of medium quality XJR in thread, you know you’ve got a problem.

Really looking forward to the Panamera updates, I remember seeing a brown one in Berlin circa 2009 and it looked so right.

I've seen a CL in that colour, or one very similar.

That looked equally stunning.

10 is too high, one loses the option of scrappage when the catastrophic bork finally occurs.
