Seems like someone pulled a fast one.
Doesn't sound that bad honestly. I'd be all over it if I had the time and space.https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C2045983

f
k. That. (Yes I realise it's a typo!)
But yes, for the money, that's a LOT of car, and the fixes are not substantial. Probably £500 and that would be back on the road.

None of those issues are insurmountable. The ABS unit sounds expensive but assuming it's not actually buggered (seems unlikely, being unable to properly bleed modern brakes without electronics is surprisingly common), the ABS module will just need a bleed with an appropriately professional OBD tool plugged in to open the valves.

I keep reminding myself that the single biggest cost of car ownership is depreciation, and therefore there is a place in our 21st century world for the comfortable older vehicle. I am reminded of this every time I make the accounting entries for the month's depreciation of my employer's car fleet.
New car ownership, of course! In these hallowed halls, surely petrol and yet another order of "as I'll have the tools out I might as well" parts are the biggest costs

Technology marches on, these days you get the same performance as these lazy V6s out of a 1.4l four cylinder hybrid for a fraction of the petrol so they're well and truly obsolete in a standard family car. And going forward with electric there's silly performance and sophisticated quietness as the new normal so this thread should eventually be filled with Taycans or Spectres
When I made my comments about there being a place for cheap barges because of depreciation if you buy new, I was following on from this quote about Porsche Tincans and the like, which, the last time I looked, were modern cars that cost over £100k new.
The youngest car on our drive is an 11 plate (so 15 years old) and my dear best beloved drives around in a 26 year old Saab 9-5.

It does seem a little odd that someone is happy to sell at a £4k loss after just 4 months ownership, when judging from what is said, there appears to be minimal work to sort the issues out.
This video has whetted my apettite...

That advert stinks of AI. As for the jerkiness going uphill, what do we think? Head-butt the dashboard time? It's going to need more than a gearbox service, isn't it? Nice colour XK at top thread. No picture of driver's seat though https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202604131...

I wouldn't even be worried about the driver seat, it will be fine judging from the rest of the very tidy interior...
I would also not be worried about the service history of the car, which is extensive (yearly) and the MOT history, which is very good.
If that all checks out, it is an absolute bargain for someone.
There also does not to be any aluminium corrosion, from what i can see in the pics.

Always Geralded. Someone should really check if the glue Jag use on the interiors causes brain damage.
But imagine the satisfaction of spending a few hours de-Geralding it with a heat gun and some spirits and being left with a much nicer car.Anyway, fun fact for those that don't know, in the year 2007, Jaguar changed the aerial from the external one (which this has) to an integrated one. Once you are aware of this, the external one will bug you as it looks awful.

Was about to say it's a shame it's not the 4.8 but then I saw the price. That is cheap.
