Was excited reading the spec was manual then crushed when the seller description states auto, still seems a bargain for someone. Lovely condition.

I love it. A full ignition set - leads, plugs, dizzy (if it has one??) etc - and I bet that sorts the lumpiness. I have an unhealthy desire for a Harry-style 2000 mile European roadtrip in one of those big old Mercs.

The Australian Ford Fairlane previously posted has been sold, Alas, not to me. I did enquire and the seller replied this morning.

Friday offering. Am seriously considering one of these and it might be this one. I fancies a car on balloon rubber sans VED.

Strong money, maybe? Maybe not. Not sure. Seems high for what will be a car built in Jaguar's BL-era. I can't help but shudder whenever I think of BL (British Lada) and the absolute lack of quality they put out.

Very nice, certainly worth having a look at I would have thought. Estimate doesn't seem crazy (except for the 12.5% fees on top) if you end up at or below the lower end and the car is as good in person.

Yep. I know nothing of these but something is pulling me in with this car. Gonna try and get up and see it. Will be replacing my C63. Think it's either one of these or an XJ40/E32

These are blissfully brilliant if you buy well. A perfect antidote for modern life. I had a one owner 4.2 Sovereign, Sage green with oatmeal leather, a one owner car in lovely condition and it was one of those cars that just made you feel a million dollars even driving to the shops.

Thank you. that's what I wanted to hear. My C63 makes me feel like a criminal every time I get in it. 16 year old me had a summer job valeting cars at Heathrow and THE car that stood out was a Daimler Double Six in grey on a G plate, it was new. I used to wash it and then drive it back up some smashed up piece of tarmac to get it ready to be collected. Felt like a magic carpet.

Have a good look around, the sixes in particular are very cheap and unloved and no signs of that changing. The biggest problem is rust, I think for an auction car sight unseen/no inspection I'd want to pay bottom dollar.

Also decide if what you really want is the V12 wink

Could that something be the lovel colour combo, clean condition, more simple IL6, nicely paved drive, cream wooden gate, double garage, etc...

Happy Friday losers.

JRG Double Six auction, only 260 pictures. Corrosion advisory! A fail last year for structural strength reduced!

Looks bloody ace, whilst a v12 is in theory the better engine I'd always go straight 6 in these as likely to be a less challenging proposition.

Not surprised that's in a no reserve auction. It's a bit of a dog. The steering wheel and drivers seat are minging, and the interior in general is 17 different shades of beige filth. The tyres are cheap and mismatched. The rear window is full of condensation - I bet the boot and/or sunroof leaks like a sieve. Sills look OK though, MOT history notwithstanding. But no, not for me. I'd spend the money on an old Merc SE instead.
