Sadly the coupé ones are nearly triple the budget of that one. There's also the Nissan Leopard J.Ferrie Type L which looks like something awful from the USA in the 90's. See also the Mazda Efini MS 8's and 9's.

Ok, so advice from Audi beards sought. This car is being sold by its original owner, has a fsh, has had a replacement albeit used gearbox and has had recent suspension and steering work and a new battery..owner says air suspension sinks if car not used for a few weeks...now, thats not gonna get any better...options, likely costs, I am genuinely tempted here and will call owner tomorrow for a lie of the land, see if he is amenable to a cheeky offer. Will air suspension fault show as a code with a code reader...?

It’s a high mileage Audi A8 from Scotland; you’re clearly mental and way past any precautionary assessment considerations.

A Passat is a miserable thing to own once it gets over 12 years old, with the usual Heath Robinson engineering they love over at VAG making every job a misery and finding every NLA part that could be one of 15 different revisions a treasure hunt.

I can but imagine how dreadfully an old A8 diesel could abuse you.

You'll notice very few of the experienced threadists run Audis, ask yourself why that might be hehe

I've bought every one of the nigh on 200 cars I've bought and sold over the years in Scotland and only had one issue with a car that was corroded more than the norm..I'm more concerned about the suspension issue on this. Miles don't concern me.

You are however correct. I thought I was cured of this madness and had settled down but my curiosity proves otherwise... beer
