I notice the excess mileage charge on the Honda is 9.83p per mile. Plus VAT presumably, so equivalent to the cost of a car doing about 60 mpg (plus whatever your charging costs). That's not too bad.

The eNy1 I had in March on 6k miles p.a. has an excess charge of 13.07p + VAT per mile. frown Even charging on Octopus Go overnight, that'd be over 18p per mile, equivalent to a petrol car doing only 35 mpg)

I don't understand your logic. Your factoring in the "depreciation" (excess mileage charge) for the electric car but not the petrol car?

Eh? It's nothing to do with depreciation. On a PCP, it's not a concern for the person having the car.

I have an EV and other ICE cars, as I expect do many people. I was comparing the cost of accepting the extra mileage charge or keeping to the contract mileage and using a different car. I happened to sell my Fiat Panda 1.2 when I got my EV, and that cost 14p per mile in fuel alone. My current EV would cost more than that if I exceed 18,500 over 3 yrs, but the one on the contract mention above would still be less per mile, including the 2.5p - 3p per mile in charging costs (depending on your tariff, mine is in that range)

ETA: My sister has an e-Niro through salary sacrifice since late 2020 and it is 9.5p per mile plus VAT excess mileage charge. And she gets charging fees back when out for work, so I told her it shouldn't be a big concern, her other vehicle is a van for the dog. smile When she switches to an id4 in September, the excess is 14p per mile + VAT. eek THAT is the charge that reflects depreciation, for the loan provider. They aren't worth as much at 3 / 4yrs old with average mileage that the finance houses initially thought.

Probably a misprice as it is gone as of this morning. I was going to call them. Still waiting for that elusive sub £200 EV deal

How did you get the £132/month price? Auto trader advert says...

"We couldn't calculate any finance rates for this selection. Try changing your deposit, term or mileage. Alternatively contact Arbury Nissan Bromsgrove."

He could have inferred it from the listing page which used to show the Nissan Leaf at £132 as of last night. No longer does this morning.

Talking of Leafs, in an earlier page i mentioned how Autotrader were showing PCB deals for them at stupidly low prices. After enquiring, most were bait n' switch.

Last week i was able to find one though, and although not as cheap, was still cheap enough

So one old Lexus, £400 deposit and £110 a month got me a 2022 Leaf N-Connecta (8K miles)

I was spending more than that in fuel, parking and car tax. I also get to charge it for free at work.

Any decent pcp offers for the new quarter? Was hoping to see something worth going for on xc60/q5/x3 but not found anything really. Tempted to just lease an xc60 B5 at the moment.

Henson motor group in Newcastle. Got £900 for the Lexus

I think they have a Leaf Tekna for similar money.

Yes, you can extend any time from the last 30 days of the existing warranty, there's different levels of cover, use an old reg: for current prices:

That looks like a really good deal from £150 per year plus you can renew it each year.
I can see an ID3 on lease on AT for around 150 per month with 1000 deposit. That would be a good one.

Up!

Anyone seen any good PCP deals? There is thread going on about Honda EV, but how about Audi, Cupra for example?

Looking to get one for 2 years up to 300£ a month.

Appreciate the insights.

Fiat 500e
£1000 deposit + £85.71 x36
So £113 p.m. overall. That's cheap, the sort of price to lease a little Citroen C1 about 15 year ago! I know, I nearly did at the time. smile

So with the low running costs, even allowing for only 6k miles per year, it's cheap motoring, apart from probably the insurance. It comes with 2 years servicing.

ETA: I though there was an error somewhere because it seems to also say customer deposit £7375. scratchchin But Arbury are ponying up all but the £1k !

hotukdeals yesterday had someone’s copy invoice showing they’d got a new (74) MG5 SE LR for £18795. No details on finance though.

I came past the Bristol docks yesterday and there are thousands of MG’s sat there, various models and colours. Never seen that many there before.

Quick PCP vs lease question: I had heard (which may be wrong) that if you apply for a mortgage the whole finance amount of the PCP is taken into account but for a lease they just take into consideration the monthly?
