Apart from that though, mainly just reactionary drivel about cars he will never own or whetever the manufactured culture war outrage topic du jour is, with a peculiar focus on electric vehicles for some reason.
And in common with many of the anti-EV Chicken Littles, of course there is no 'My garage'. Fred could be a 13yo schoolkid for all we know.

My Dad had a Sierra Sapphire GL back in the day, fairly posh with it's electric front windows and silver trim, but I was always extremely envious of our neighbour who had a Sierra Ghia, rear electric windows and a trip computer -such technology absolutely blew my mind. Great times.

Wasn't made of Sapphire though was it. So I hope your Dad let Ford know and took a firm, brave, principled stand that in no way made everyone around him stage an intervention. We can see that it worked because the Ford Puma was made of actual wild Pumas.
