I wonder if the Norwegians have some angry Olavs and Gustavs on Youtube telling them all that it's impossible, and if they only keep the oily faith (and keep watching their channels) that the nasty electric cars will all go away soon?
Probably a couple of guys still holding out for hydrogen to render them all obsolete too.

its a amazing what can be done with competent government's that haven’t spunked all their oil wealth up the wall and now have a serious sum that they can use the interest on to fund EV projects etc.

nice, its hit 2 trillion dollars

to be fair the incentives to buy EVs and the needed infrastructure was all funded by oil sales, Norway maybe clean but they have just sold their emissions to others

If the UK taxed ICE cars the same way the Norwegians do the UK's EV figures might look similar too.

I know a Norwegian with an diesel X5 he bought for tax exempt for export (Navy based overseas), and he reckons if he every ships it back to Norway it will €40k-€50k in tax.

Entirely fair points. But I wonder if their Olav and Gustavs hit the same non-climate-related bullst notes as our Terrys and Geoffs?

Hold the line, hydro-boys. The fundamental physics of the universe will shift in our favour any day now. You've got to be patient about these things.

Not BEVs though which are what we are colloquially calling EVs

I did entertain the idea of buying a hydrogen car there are a number on Autotrader they look cheap but there's one brave pill I'm not willing to swallow!

I quite like our system that nudges you rather than says this is what you can have.

But there's no denying it works over there.

I'm pretty sure that the hydrogen cars that have actually been sold to consumers are BEVs, they just happen to recharge their batteries using an onboard hydrogen fuel cell, then use the battery to propel the car via electric motors.

The Norwegians certainly have a very different attitude from the current UK government when it comes to extraction of oil and gas from the North Sea. They're seeking to maximise the use of their remaining reserves while eco-zealots like Miliband are just killing our own North Sea oil and gas industry stone dead in the name of saving the planet - and then importing gas from Norway which is taken from the same sea.

It would be quite funny if it wasn't so serious....

They are not categorised as BEV though - they have their own category FCEV's smile

Pah. Given that EV's are inarguably milk floats, therefore EV drivers are milkmen, and we all know about their sexual prowess...

Clearly a remake is well overdue.

It's funny that you think there is a 'good' side to this idiocy.
