Pick up my Tesla X tomorrow. Had to be 7 seats to replace our GLB.
In true PH fashion, I've got a performance ludicrous, because, well, why not. 51k miles, red, 20 plate so it's the raven edition.
Who's the best people to insure it with? Got 980 so far.
They are great cars. We had a 2018 MX 75D for 4 years from new and it was pretty reliable. Had a few minor things fixed under warranty, but never let us down. I think the Raven update was even better too. In true PH fashion, I've got a performance ludicrous, because, well, why not. 51k miles, red, 20 plate so it's the raven edition.

One thing to look out for on the Performance model is front driveshaft joint wear. Usually shows up as a judder under hard acceleration. I think there were quite a few warranty claims and not sure if there was ever a fix other than running at the lowest ride height to minimise the joint angle.
For Tesla insurance I’ve always used Direct Line.

If you had to guess, do you think these are EVs or not?

Would i be mad to test drive a Dacia Spring? (the garage is down the road from me, the only dealership within 2 miles of my house)
I just really fancy driving one as they are right up my street. I just love low powered small compact s**t boxes and think as a town tearaway could be a bit of fun. Dacia dealership advertising one at £159 per month 0% APR and no deposit. Could do worse to be honest, if looking for a second car.

"Clearance between the GPF and starter generator will be adjusted if necessary." If it was my car I'd like to know how this will be achieved because I'm picturing a man with a hammer! If you had to guess, do you think these are EVs or not?

It’s insanely cheap. Can be bought even for £10k. For a new car in 2026 that’s insane no matter how dull it is. I just really fancy driving one as they are right up my street. No need to guess as the article tells you? They're hybrids, the problem is the ICE exhaust setting fire to things. If you had to guess, do you think these are EVs or not?

That's what I think and in my car buying life the cars that brought me most fun and joy were generally the small, low powered s**t boxes. I've seen a few buzzing round the roads in my area and in real world driving they are quite nippy.
I'm just realizing that fun and joy is 100% about "small, reasonably high powered (but nothing silly fast) s**t boxes with hooligan exhausts fitted".I'm also realizing that however much I absolutely love fun and joy that a small, reasonably high powered (but nothing silly fast) s**t boxes with hooligan exhausts fitted can provide, I prefer something a little less fun a bit more classy.

Its so light and chuckable but with nearly three times the power of the Spring and similar weights so 0-60 in 7 seconds instead of double or triple that depending on the Spring model.
Can definitely be had for the same £10k with not that many miles on.

Ai said it was hilarious 0-30 and also..
Limitations to the "fun":
Handling: The steering is light and vague, and it leans heavily in corners.
Performance: It is not fast, with the 65hp version reaching 62 mph in around 12-13 seconds, and the 45hp version taking nearly 20 seconds.
Comfort: The ride is harsh, and it is noisy at high speeds
But yeah cheap monthly, go for it.
I doubt that many of them ever get as quick as 60 to worry too much about the acceleration time or the noise at speed. 0-30 is about 4 seconds for the 64bhp version, which makes it a pretty nippy car around town I expect. A mate used to have a first gen Zoe which I believe was about 80bhp and felt plenty fast enough around town.
It's amazing how the world has moved on, my 1988 Mk2 Fiesta 1.1L with 50bhp and 16 seconds to 60 was a pretty average car in the early 90's, and now something with more power is considered a city car for short trips only

Quite. I've driven the length and breadth of the country in such mighty steeds as a Cinquecento, a 2nd gen Panda, an Up, and various lethargic base model hire cars over the years. It's amazing how the world has moved on, my 1988 Mk2 Fiesta 1.1L with 50bhp and 16 seconds to 60 was a pretty average car in the early 90's, and now something with more power is considered a city car for short trips only

I still miss my 1.1 fiesta 1992. First car my sister bought me for my 18th for £150. Manual choke. LOVED it. Sadly I grew up on a council estate and it got nicked and absolutely smashed to bits in a local (Raynes Park) railway station car park

I learned to drive in a 1983 Landrover 110 2.25 diesel, I believe the official figures were 0-60 in 44 seconds People nowadays don't know they're born etc.

People get strangely snobby about low powered cars, and plenty seem to think that slow accelerating cars are actively dangerous, which probably says more about their lack of driving ability than the car's performance. Something like a Spring sounds like a perfect city car to me, cheap to run, cheap enough you probably won't care too much about car park dings, small footprint for easy parking. Won't be as comfortable on a motorway as a bigger car but that's not what it's designed for.
