The difference between "paying for X" and "contributing towards X" isn't really pedantry though, is it? Quite different meanings, especially when X is no doubt quite a large number.

Statement A means savings = X (e.g. £5,000)
Statement B means savings = less than X but more than 0 (e.g. an unspecified number between £0.01 and £4,999.99)

When your statement is intended to demonstrate that you are saving a lot of money, it makes quite a big difference whether that number is £5,000 or potentially 1p.
I guess I made the mistake of thinking someone would take it that seriously. Seems I was wrong, very wrong wink
the trouble is you and rightsaidfred have written quite a bit of BS in the past so some will read what you have written and point out the glaring errors/mistakes/lies

Some meaningful savings then thanks. Funnily enough I went skiing in Andorra years back as an adult, and I miss going skiing now to be honest.
Yeah, I’ve never been to Andorra but I hear it’s nice. My wife and I used to go to Chamonix but we’ve not done that for a while.

laugh

This place does crack me up sometimes.
Sometimes? hehe

It's gone to the absolute pots arguably in most ways now in fairness for me. However I do still love it here though. smile

I saw a Fiat Topolino the other day, it is not a pretty car

These look infinitely prettier on the streets of Rome.

That s a Citroen Ami not a Fiat
You are incorrect

The ines in Rome are Fiat Toppplinos

That "Topolino" in the photo is an Ami. Same base but slightly different looks and wheels. Plus it has a Citroen badge on the front wink

Can be, but there are quite a few more accessible areas, Le Tour and Les Houches for example. Lots of schools at Le Savoy too. It’s just a lovely town, we’ve been there a lot in the summer and there is loads to do.

Seen a few Dacia Springs around recently. Whenever I've mentioned these people have scoffed but if you want a basic compact runaround I think they tick plenty of boxes. Light, affordable and very narrow - so ideal for our town centres and tight car parks. Also, I was impressed by the pick up one demonstrated from a roundabout the other day. The on paper stats may look poor, but in the real world you will not be holding anyone up on urban routes!

99.99% of the time you won't be held up by _what_ the vehicle will do but by the driver and their lack of ability to press the accelerator anyway!

As an example a Honda Jazz will actually do >100mph and most will make 60 in <10s, not that you'd know it from the numbers that drive round with an apparent top speed of 37mph...

Classic cheap Dacia tbh.

Although one rare example of looking worse in the flesh, nothing looks right on them.

I’ve only been there in the summer with my bike. Beautiful area. I love skiing though and been lucky to ski in many resorts, but never ticked the Cham box.

Ah, you'll have been up Les Grand Montets I bet. All black and red runs. Pretty gnarly terrain.

The name is the wrong way round - it leans over first, then topples.
So it's the Fiat lean-o-topple.
Anyway, sorry yes, I think I photographed a French car in an Italian city,
Only because you can park it at 90 degrees to the normal.
The Colosseum is in the background to prove it.

"EVs... no one wants them!"

Well certainly the dealers don't want to sell them! Yesterday I was told by a large dealership that I could have the white one they had in stock, but not an orange one that would have to be a factory order. Obviously I went elsewhere.

Was that EV specific, or would the dealer have said the same thing about any other car they sell?

Sounds like the dealer only wants to sell what they have in stock and not get stuck with what's there already. Makes sense to a degree but stupid to refuse a sale though. The idiots.
