I've no idea what you're talking about Jeremy... What a great weekend that was!tawt said:
So could you use a rally tripmeter App on your mobile? would be better for the navigator, just Velcro your mobile to the dash?
Certainly, no reason why you couldn't if such a thing exists. But for those who don't want to be using apps or other gadgets, your odometer will do just fine.d8ns18ly said:
Registered my interest, no idea if my car will be out of its league (R56 Mini JCW) but it'll be fun to take part!
Everyone is welcome, irrelevant of what you drive. Navigating the route and being amongst 100+ cars is great fun, no matter how much power you've got.unsprung said:
great idea; exactly the sort of in-real-life thing that PH ought to do (and is uniquely positioned to do)
quite liked this photo... biscuits and milky tea... is this a stock photo or the handiwork of somebody at PH?
Why thank you That's a shot I took from when we did the MSA Spring Classic back in 2016. This idea has been in the pipeline since then, so it's great to finally make it happen.quite liked this photo... biscuits and milky tea... is this a stock photo or the handiwork of somebody at PH?

Well I see you've got your priorities in order! It's a shame you won't be able to join us, but there's a good chance we'll be doing more next year...geeks said:
In my defence we set the calender for them (I am the Coordinator) some time ago. Also I have an entry to RoR for the third year running so will be doing my bit for MM!
Ahhh I'll let you off then Excellent. Hope to take part in RoR one day myself! I'm sure we'll be running similar events again in the future, so will be good to have you join us in 2019.This type of event, at least the navigational part of it, are organised by car clubs all over the country every year and are great fun. A quick Google should find something going on within easy distance of wherever you live in the UK. In most cases you don't have to become a member of the organising club and your usual car insurance will be OK.
Though your car's odometer may be accurate enough, many crews use a phone app (easier for the navigator to see); there are several available.

Have done a couple of these in Yorkshire ( https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... ) and they’re great fun. Can be a bimble or make progress, it’s your choice.
The ones I’ve done were on narrow twisties and featured fords, a VERY narrow bridge and even a road which runs up between the north and south carriageways of the M6. They’re surprisingly intense and tiring all considered.
