I did get told off a couple of times. It was its first run since a tune so I was still getting used to it. Its not the going that's a problem with plenty of horse power and a large ish car. Its the stopping. I glazed my brakes in Suffolk and had to back off to let them cool down so we tried hard not to make the same mistake again. Tempting though with you guys in the mirror all the time. The Mrs was the sensible one that kept reminding me. Great fun though lads.

Fair play, I'm most definitely not allowed to drive in any aggressive way with the missus in the car! It's not worth the thrashing I get.

It was doing well when we followed towards the end of the 2nd run, we were making egging you on as well hehe

We were impressed with the pace of a larger car, we possibly could've pulled away, but you were making good process (with the missus in the car too)!

The clio just tells you to go faster, it's worryingly capable!
I've just spotted that we did the same lap time as you for the rally stage, 56 seconds. I'm pleased with that for such a heavy car. If we hadn't got a 30 second penalty which Im not sure what its for we would have up there with some of the smaller and sportier stuff. Not bad for a family estate.

I managed to use ~80% of a tank in my nice sensible economy 1.3; That may have something to do with not leaving 3rd gear though (VTEC yo)
I used about 40 litres in total that day which included the commute back and forth to Maidstone

I think I was following you briefly at the start, Something of a sleeper - That thing had plenty of go, whatever they did with the tune certainly worked.

Thanks. Yeah I’m pleased it made 470bhp on the rollers the weekend before. First proper drive so we enjoyed getting to know it again. Hopefully next year we’ll be faster on the trials as we will be more used to the car.

Not sure how I got a 30 sec penalty either... (Car 36). I completely missed the last cone due to understeer so went straight to the finish, and then forgot to stop half way across the line, but I thought it was 5 sec' per offence!

Audi-Ben said:
Anyone else surprised how much fuel they used on the twisty stuff? We did almost a tank full of momentum!! Had top up for journey home. Not sure which was more expensive the fuel bill or the £9.00 a glass for wine at the hotel!
[smug mode] Nope. Just under half a tank for the whole day @ over 40MPG... [/smug mode] That's oil burning for you!

5 seconds if you kiss the cone, 30 if you go the wrong way (Failing to follow the prescribed slalom), so that would explain

It was a very fun day so thank you to all who organised the event. The car has been in the barn since April last year as i haven't had time to use it so it was a good event to give it a run out. Had great fun following the Hyundai i30N in the morning and had a great afternoon run with a Clio in tow. I was in the Silver Lotus Elise S1.

If anyone knows Travis Coleman and/or Mike Wise in the Cayman, can you tell them we want our 3rd place trophy back please smile

Kudos to the organisers for a thoroughly enjoyable day. I agree that the likes of Spirit of the Event or Prettiest Car awards and the like should be voted on by fellow competitors. It'll make it a bit more inclusive and add friendly competition.

All in all, a brilliant day, a great bunch of cars and drivers and well organised. Oh, and beautiful photos by Andrew Manston.

It was a great day, glad you enjoyed the morning behind us - hope I didn't hold you up too much (I was considering letting you by)!

I finally put the video clips together from the day, you may be able to spot a few of your cars at the start and during the drive out

Wish I'd managed to get more pictures but was tricky in the back of the car when moving! This was probably my favourite of the day.

I've finally got around to putting a gallery together, featuring a selection of photo's from the day... https://www.mandhphotography.co.uk/p325537894 .
I'm photographing the rally at Clacton this weekend, it has a cracking entry list ( https://mtc1.uk/Entry/CSRTC19/EntryList.php ) if any of you are going along to watch. Failing that, I may see some of you on the July Sporting Tour 'up north'.
