I'm curious as to what these "better" alternatives are. Better how? As a usable toy, give me something up to £60k I can upgrade my M400 to. Seriously, perhaps I've missed something.
I was thinking the same, maybe he's thinking Audi R8 ? you can get the V10 for about £65k now. I don't like the look of it visually, not special enough, but some people do. Caterham 620R ? they are around £50k now for a 2 year old.

Both good calls which I've considered. The caterham loses out on usability too greatly for me personally. As for the v10 r8, I like them (particularly the spider) but I'd lose sleep over an engine which costs £60k in a crate. You're talking, sensibly, a £2k per annum audi warranty before any other expenses if you want to sleep at night. Or I would be. And then there's those Audi dealerships...Caterham 620R ? they are around £50k now for a 2 year old.
Great to read people's options and that so many love this great car. Prices should be higher and maybe they are on the way up. It's hard because I could not have brought my car at a higher price but I want to throw out a question.
If the price rises does it make it harder for the insurance company's to write off the car. The scrap value is too close to the value of the car. When I see cat D or C I think that's a real worry it could happen to any of us. So if the price rises would it leasen the chance of so many Nobles being written off ? Maybe a silly question but if you can answer it I would be interested.

So your worry is that accident damaged cars that yesterday would have been Cat D, will now be fully repaired by the insurance company and can be sold on as clean? If the price rises does it make it harder for the insurance company's to write off the car. I don't see this as a problem and think it follows naturally that this should be the case. If, say, a McLaren F1 is involved in a major accident, it will always be repaired as the value must exceed the cost of a full rebuild. The pass-down to our cars is that more examples will survive rather than be broken up for spares, which is a good thing for the marque. And those surviving cars won't have the silly stigma of Cat D, with the associated drop in resale value, and increase in insurance costs.
Of course, one has to assume that bent cars are straightened correctly and safely! And I would hope that the history of the repairs is passed on to any new owner.
[quote=umeerw]Anyone noticed the 2 gto 3 's for sale on autotrader and eBay ,both look like good cars but surely selling too cheap?! Circa 29000 and 32000?!!
I know I will get shot down for this but these prices are around the established value for a while now. It is only recently and on this thread in particular people have begun to believe prices have risen, but there is no evidence of actual sales to support this yet.

£34500 for a 2.5 at the auction at Silverstone a couple of weeks ago seems like pretty convincing evidence to me.
It's a REAL sale, not just a speculative advert price and is what current and future values should be judged against.

Not at all, there's logic in your comment. Remember anything can drive up prices whether it be comments on this forum or otherwise and logic doesn't come into it. Gassing Station | Noble | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
