Hi all I'm in the position to buy myself a Noble ,I've seen this one a few times advertised a few times recently, it's on eBay now and possibly could be a good purchase, does anyone know any information about this cars history ? Regards David

No mention of any mods like fuel pump wiring mod (not expensive).
If a Magnetic Merelli ECU then budget 3-4K to sort that out.

No mention if std open Diff. Can break and is a few grand to fix.

No mention of a track day dump. Not essential but is handy.

It still has std exhaust so I suggest none of the above has happened.

I would want to see pictures with both clams up so I can see if it has had Fan upgrade and what the engine bay is like.

It's got the upgraded MBE ECU and fuel pump wiring upgrade too,also twin cooling fans

Only if it's going to be tracked. Granted most will see it at some point. But it can be fitted later when funds allowed. Just no track days

I don't really understand Ebay bidding and can't imagine how anyone who has a decent Noble would start the bidding at 99p! Am I missing something?

Exactly what I think. I recon there must be something seriously wrong to be selling from a 99p bid, when you have only owned the car 3 weeks

Not necessarily, EBay is a legitimate forum for selling cars now, you see all makes and models (including Nobles). It's not as dominant as Auto trader, but cheaper and if your already an EBay user it seems natural to use the forum. The 99p start is similarly not relevant, and it's natural to do this to drum up interest, but you can always withdraw the item at a later date if the price is failing to reach an acceptable level. The last Noble to sell was a 2.5 on 9th July and that reached £25,100 so it's always worth a shot!

If it's been allocated to a 99p auction it should be allowed to run to the end, if my winning bid isn't accepted I'm going to be one agree bidder

There's no reason why this car shouldn't be sound and there's a surprising amount of Nobles out there who's owners do not belong to the PH forum or FB group. However, knowing what I know from 10 years of ownership, I wouldn't be recommending a first time owner to consider a car that's not well know on the forums. Just my opinion, which may well be shot down shortly!

It is a great boon when PH or FB owners can give you some feedback on the history of a car, that's for sure, but the same forums give a wealth of knowledge that can help you find a good car and avoid the pitfalls. I would have no problem buying a car on EBay, but the same caveats apply when buying any car, do your research, take a good look, go for a long drive, have it inspected etc.

ETY, I could not agree more, the spirit of an auction should be that it runs to the end (otherwise sell it conventionally), if it does run to the end it is a legally binding (and enforceable) transaction.

The seller has clean feedback, the price is reaching an acceptable level so I would expect it to complete.

Feels a little cheap but I guess it's a combination of it being eBay (ie not holding out for the right buyer) and also maybe people a little weary of going for a car that's being sold on again within a month
