Advice on a Noble I'm thinking of buying

Hi all, I'm currently exchanging emails with the owner of this noble;

I've never owned, or even been in one before, so any advice you could give me on questions I need to ask would be appreciated.
If you know, or have seen the car about and can offer anymore info that would also be great.
To me the car looks very clean and well looked after, I know modifications are not for everybody but I think they look good and fit with the type of car, and from the research I have done a lot of them are quite desirable.

Hi - I would have thought the car may well be known by someone on here as it is highly modified (a good thing). For what its worth, with the mods listed, the colour (which again looks great), I would say its fair/good value. As for thinking about owning a Noble you won't regret it, they are great fun and attract lots of curiosity rather than ire!

Modifications are very welcomed on Nobles, it looks a very nice spec car. Believe you me that hp in a 1050kg makes a swift car! Looks good, try and get on the noble fb page, some friendly knowledgeable people on there who don't tend to use ph!

Looks pretty good to me, I'd just be careful of the gearbox at that power level.

Mine runs 400/400 and is really sweet balance of power & handling.
I don't know the car, its not a common site on the fb forum, so find out where it has been. Also there are 12 Nobles on the pistonheads forum which is unheard of. When I bought mine there were 2 for sale !! I know a couple of the car for sale with 500hp, but they are a bit more exp.

Thanks guys, I'm currently stepping up my research to learn as much as I can. I tried joining the noble Facebook group but for some reason I haven't been accepted? Maybe I need to be an owner to get in. I wasn't after a black one, but it's really growing on me, only thing that is worrying me at the moment is that I'm a fairly large chap (6'2' nearly 17 stone) and I'm worried that I might not fit as I'm yet so sit in one.
Unfortunately this is at the top of my budget but it's got everything I was looking for apart from the colour.

I'm 6'2" 16 stone and fitted no problem, there's a lot of people on the fb page who aren't owners! Pretty sure if you explain to Andy or Si your intentions they'll let you in!

Has anybody on here got a noble in South Wales that I could come and have a quick sit in to try the cockpit out for size before I make the journey north?

I to am 6' 3" and 16 stone (must lose some of that), and the cockpit is very comfortable, including head height, seats and leg room (in fact sometimes I have it just one notch off max, only car I have ever done that!). Even travelling some distance in a Noble is not uncomfortable, although the offset pedals get to you a little bit. I have seen this car in Blackpool on occasion (I have a flat in Lytham St Anne's) and it certainly caught my attention! Eventually I bought my own. Your welcome to come and try my own car if your in North Devon for any reason.

Looks like a well sorted car. At that power I wouldn't worry about the Gearbox.

The original car had a number of cheep parts/problems.
So I wouldn't recommend a standard one to anyone, this one looks a great spec for the price.

You won't regret it.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if CaptainPeter meant standard, as in maybe a 2.5 - hence the request for clarification. I asked as I felt his comment appears potentially marque damaging, especially if not explained to oustsiders correctly.

With regard to whether you'll fit, I'm roughly the same size as you.On both the Nobs I've owned, I've had the thevdront of the seat raised for extra thigh support,and an extended boss for the steering wheel. With that fitted and the wheel extended out it gives a lot more knee room and is spot on for me.

Sorry for the confusion, yes I was referring to the standard know points - fuel pump wiring, tunnel mods, oil separator tanks.

However there are better than standard parts around these days, for example the original drilled brake discs can form small cracks over time of hard use, so if your coming up to needing to replace your brakes why not look to fit a wavy curved vane, floating disc.
Is it a mod, yes, is it better yes.
Porsche hub nut is another example and Pro Alloy make a number of parts, that are better than standard.

If I was buying a car I'd rather have these parts fitted so I did't have to...

When I bought mine (over 7 years ago ) it was completely original, so I've made all the necessary/desirable upgrades and improvements. The problem with mods is knowing when to stop!
