Very nice! One thing I would suggest, though - make sure that there's still an easy way to disconnect and remove the front clam. One of our customers sent his Noble to us for some work requiring the removal of the front clam. He had installed the same type of HID headlight system. I had to unmount the ballasts, cut all the zip-ties holding the wires in place, undo some of the front panels so that I could free the wiring between the headlights and the ballasts, etc., etc., etc., before I could remove the clam. Then, after I completed my work, I had to put back together all of the HID stuff that I had undone. Naturally, all the extra time that it took was tacked onto the customer's bill...

V good point, Jim. I'll pass this on to Skip. Looking at my arrangement I think I'd have to cut the connectors to the ballast and pull the wires through the grommet. Not the end of the world, but if the grommet hole was bigger say, you could then pull the whole lot through without having to cut any connections.

As promised -one on left original halogen , one on the right new HID. Photo not as impressive as the real thing but it gives you an idea.

Bloody crook - £28 P&P from China! I don't agree with this much used eBay trend - I always charge the real Postage plus a small admin. fee on my eBay sales.

Old Chinese proverb 'you get what you pay for' smash (But not always true, so let us know how you get on.)

I think that P&P is a typical e bay scam but as we are getting three sets we'll see if they can be persuaded to be more reasonable (ie not three lots of £28 !) then it should be ok . The guy that is going to help install them is a professional electrician and hes spent a lot of time in China and he says (no matter what eveyone else claims ) they all come from China , it's just they get marked up when sold in this country . We have some ideas for installing them so that the clam can be removed easily as well , so if that pans out ok , I'll let you all know ...I'm off boarding now for a week or so , so it will be a while before I get all the answers ...i'll repost when its done (probably wont need lights by then with the longer nights ! smile

The guy who does all my wiring and spends a lot of time in China (and Thailand but we wont go into that !!! ) ....just had a quick search on my computer on E bay and found quite a few . I must stress that I am acting as guinea pig in this and am not saying its the right thing to do until I've installed them and got some idea of quality (as much as anyone can ) ..it's just , at that money , it's a cheap gamble and I've known him for many years and trust his judgement . Will let everyone know as soon as its done , rest assured .
