Looks perfectly fine to me,,,,

Yesterday another Tesla on autopilot crashed into yet another stopped Police car, the Atlanta lorry crash is being investigated and Tesla release a self driving free trial in the middle of lockdown during a pandemic when people are being asked to drive as little as possible and make only essential journeys.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/17/tesla-in-autopilot...

You really couldn’t make this up.

Still, download button for all for the unfinished beta software is let loose today so I suggest giving any Tesla you see whilst out exercising a very wide berth rofl

Feature complete in 2018, 2019,2020 and now seemingly 2021. Really??

Got a 14 day trial of EAP recently drop in. Havn't managed to eek out anything positive yet. Parking ignores all the spots. Smart summon unusably dodgy. NOA doesn't work on any of my routes.

So that just leaves auto lane change. Which I would quite like to have but it would need to be a stand alone option for me to consider it.

It's a no for me.

Read about the autopilot Model Y crashing into the stationary police car earlier, had blue lights flashing at the time apparently.

Shocking.

The only shocking thing is, how stupid people are.

How is the system marketed at the moment? Is it full self driving or is it a driver aid?

Crashing into a police car and then blaming the car is comical.

You're one of the lucky ones to even be offered the trial. I got nothing. Car less than 6mths old, bought outright direct from Tesla.

Given they call it "Full Self Driving", you tell us

Just googled it, It really shouldn't be called that should it hehe

It does say:

Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capability are intended for use with a fully attentive driver, who has their hands on the wheel and is prepared to take over at any moment. While these features are designed to become more capable over time, the currently enabled features do not make the vehicle autonomous.

So it's clear, that it is not Full Self Driving in any way and is just a driver aid system.

This is one of the problems I have with Tesla, they have so many things going for them and do stuff like this.

I assume it's longer term owners it's aimed at. You are likely still in the maybe camp in their database.

I don't think Tesla are bothered how the car was paid for.
Some will get it, some won't

You are doing it wrong. You need film all 14 days, then edit to only the best bits, and upload them to youtube and say it's amazing.

The same experience for me too. I don't really see the point of it - even if it worked. It feels so weird to be driving but not driving, secondly it really doesn't work properly. I went out yesterday on a fairly quiet dual carriageway in good sunlight. Unexpected braking, the steering wheel being wrenched unexpectedly and then veering off to who knows where when passing an entry ramp on the carriageway. This was all in about 20 minutes.

I like the car - but this EAP and FSD thing is a very long way from being even slightly competent.

Cruise control is not perfect either - phantom braking could be a major issue if you had someone behind you.

Fortunately I did not buy it for these features.

Look for “Tesla unprotected left turn” on YouTube by Chuck Cook - it is using FSD Beta 8.2 and was uploaded a few days ago.

He puts a drone up so you can clearly see the traffic on the road, and has the wireframe running as well.

It is terrifying! The car keeps getting it wrong. Really, really wrong.

I used to enjoy watching updates on Tesla Driver etc, but as far as I can see it's dead in the UK

Maybe USA will enjoy some beta testing, but in UK, it will likely be behind closed doors until FSD gets to the stage it can be presented to regulators as genuine L3+. 2 years maybe?

I would guess Tesla driver is feeling much the same as hasn't updated his channel in yonks.

As other poster says, plenty to keep me happy with the car, but very glad I didn't buy FSD.

I'm not sure what the laws are in the US but can you imagine flying a drone over the M1 and not getting into bother?

Quite a marked departure from the usual youtube shills - good on them for an honest video. FSD is a pipedream and nothing Tesla have shown recently has changed my mind on this. I just wish I had standard basic cruise control on mine.

I posted this topic in the Tesla forum. I got it but it's not impressed me to date. Even the lane change is undecided as it sits for ages waiting to change and phantom braking is still very much an issue. I don't even use Autopilot now as it just brakes when overtaking trucks and approaching bridges, the software is a joke. This is more an Alpha software build than a Beta so you haven't missed anything.

Actually I got it the other day. Laughably bad. £3400 - Elon's been on the blunts again.

I'd give them £500 for the lane change on autopilot, and a further £100 to have basic cruise control instead of the phantom brakey TACC rubbish. Anyone who buys EAP or FSD in its current state obviously doesn't like money.

Unfortunately there are morons who expect the car to drive them to their destination without any driver intervention. If they hit something or someone, it's the cars fault.

Gentlemen, you have been found guilty of violating the third law of t'internet; "thou shalt not criticise Elon or Tesla".

Now be good chaps, and apologise and we'll say no more about it, otherwise hoards of keyboard warriors will descend upon your souls.
