Picked my Y up from the NEC yesterday. Loving it so far, though it did take me ages to figure out the basics (locking it especially).

Lovely!

Yes, my first EV, I sat a while trying to figure out how to turn it off... : )

Ok, Used ours for the 12mi school run. DC, Town etc.
I dare say the UI does become second nature in time, but a bit of a fiddle on and not getting what I wanted - easy I am sure when parked. less so when driving along.

Clearly a practical car. Size and space.
A bit boomy out back when driving along on my own. Clearly takes off like a scolded cat.

I wouldnt say its as attractive as the Model 3 -but a useful bus !
The steep learning curve of learning it, I suspect will be rewarding. Unfortunately as mines leased they have not yet linked the account / car / app up yet, so a lot of the functionality of 'planning' charging and departures are off limits for now.

You can set schedules in the car from the charging screen

Apologies for jumping on the thread but as a future leaser of a Tesla I’m curious to find out about problems linking the app to myself. Is this usually a problem or is it resolved relatively quickly by the leasing company? Thanks

What charger are you using? On superchargers or the mobile connector just press the button and the port unlocks.

Only home charging.
Still waiting for Tesla to link the car to the owner (its leased) so we can't have the App working yet.
I am climbing in to 'stop' and 'unplug'

If you’re finding the whole unlock / open charge port a bit of a faff, can I suggest you get one of these cables to replace the standard cable on your home charger. They have a “Tesla button” which opens the charge port from the cable.

I have two: one installed on each wall box. They’re not cheap but, akin to central locking / keyless entry / adaptive cruise, when you’ve tried it you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it!

Much cheaper just to buy the key fob. Press and hold the boot button will stop and unlock charger. You can put your keys on it too.

Good bits, bad bits, thoughts on road noise and refinement?

Good-fast, huge, an event, sound system, the roof, convenience

Not so good-erm…

Noise-road noise caused by tyres running along it

That’s it! I’m literally converted.

I’ve had mine for three weeks now; Long Range, red, 20 inch wheels.

The performance is brilliant; accelerates instantly at any speed. I find it enjoyable to drive. Loads of storage. Ride quality and road noise are fine…it’s not a Range Rover, but it’s perfectly acceptable. Interior is light, airy and comfortable. Using just a central screen was odd at first but now I like it; view of the road is excellent.

Bad things? Lack of parcel shelf (from a security point of view), having to unlock the charge port from inside the car or the app, central USB are power only and not data, auto wiper function is poor. No Apple CarPlay.

Overall, it’s a brilliant car. Our Jag F-Pace seems like a dinosaur now.
