MR2 MOT failure - opinions

Hello! My mates MK 2 MR2 has failed it’s MOT and I’m looking to help him with it.

Has anyone got any experience fixing these faults, especially the rust.

My advice would be to join one of the clubs forums like IMOC,They will give you all the info you need. I could comment but its been quite a long time since I've had my Mr2 and alot had changed price wise. I know Mr2 Ben is still going and they are fantastic and the prices aren't too bad for part and advice. I would tell them what needs doing and see how much he gets back to you on for parts.

As mentioned above the sills can be bought but that mot fail sounds like the rear quarter section inside the rear bumper. It's becoming a very common rust area on these cars and surprisingly nobody is making a repair panel for it yet, but as it's all hidden behind the bumper repair panels can be home made even if they're not perfect it won't be seen once it's reassembled
