I've got one and have done so for about a month. Was a bit lucky ordered at the end of November 2020. Asked if they had any cancellations to let me know. Bagged a Cancellation. Perl White convenience pack. Absolutely Brilliant

I ordered my car at the start of Feb21. Was told that deliveries were Dec21, which worked well as my current car is going back in Nov/Dec.

Paid the deposit and waited for confirmation.

A few days passed with radio silence.

Called the dealer and was told that the UK allocation had been sold, Toyota had therefore closed the ordering system and when the system re-opened May22 was the new date.

Have kept my slot and told the dealer that ideally I want a car this year as we already discussed, so hoping a cancellation or something comes up around that time.

Have gone for Pearl and CP like most others.

I did get a test drive in one a few weeks ago - had it for a good hour driving some fun roads near where I live. It goes well, sounds ok, comfy enough, good brakes.

I'm currently driving a BMW M760li - so its a very different proposition, but i've decided that big expensive BMWs aren't for me any more and am looking forward to some cheap motoring. Will be tracking the GR and will be taking it to the ring next year (will be heading there again this year in the 7 series - which goes well round the place given its size!).

I'm not famed for my patience so can't see me waiting til May next year for one, although the dealer did confirm that whenever it does arrive they will honour the 2 years 0% offer that was in place when I ordered it....

I'm glad I got to drive the demo (never buy demos people) as that was driven hard and can show what the car is capable of. I can imagine that those who get into it, without having hammered one first, may be a little underwhelmed, but stick in there as they are a hoot.

Cheers
Steve

What exact date did you car get ordered? If it’s before the 9th Feb, you *should* be ok for a very late ‘21 delivery.

How long did it take from the the car landing in Portbury to dealer?

MyT updated the car arrived in UK on 22nd Feb, but still saying Derbyshire - In Transit.

It's taking longer from the port to dealer than it look on a ship to travel half the Earth!

i have done quite a lot of ringing around this morning.

looks like December 2021 is possible (depending but wont commit to, but toyota trying to push for earlier than may)

may2022 is a long way off, and im not wishing to wait

i cancelled on the first allocation as didnt think it would be such an issue in purchasing, should have kept the order.

cracking car, but doubt its worth a 14month lead time.

The overs market suggest it probably is worth a 14 month wait......

At least i'm not the only one then... Hopefully like I said, one will pop up before the end of the year.

I can wait til Jan, as my eldest daughter will be 17 then and she can learn to drive in it...

Any later than that and I'll have to decide what to do...

Cheers

I think you're confused, if it's for your parents you want the shopping trolley Yaris without the 'GR' bit. Unless your dad is Ari Vatanen.

Isn't that a bit "generationist" or ageist. In the highly unlikely event that one of my offspring won the lottery and bought me a (choose) McLaren/Ferrari or Lotus or Caterham I would be delighted, even if I'm not Jos Verstappen.

Interesting.. mine arrived in Portbury on the 9th Feb and hasn't moved since. It's now expected to be at the dealership late March, having originally understood it to be late Feb / early March. Don't think I'm alone with those dates and the delay, which was stated as being down to lack of capacity / people due to Covid.

It is. Many a granddad/mom can show youngsters how to drive a car properly.
