Just sold my 4.8k miles June 2022 red CP to a Toyota dealer for £32k.
Loved it, in spite of the flaws, but was struggling with the use case. It was a waste using it for the shopping, but it never quite seemed special enough for a weekend warrior. My g/f didn't like it which didn't help; apparently me wanting to safely overtake someone doing 45mph in a national speed limited road is a character defect.
Sitcking with an every day smoker and a bike for now.
Yes, it just doesn't cut it for a weekend fun car, sadly for me anyway.Loved it, in spite of the flaws, but was struggling with the use case. I am always reaching for my GT3 keys.
My GRY still only has 660 miles on the clock, 6 month old, mint condition, still standard and fully PPF'd. Shall I let her go ??..

There's enough GR's for sale to gauge the asking price but has anyone recently tried to sell one to a dealer or had a P/X price on theirs? Just wondering what trade bids are like at the moment.
Toyota offered me £27,800 at 2 years, fully serviced, 9,500 miles last week. That was a buy back price, not a px, but I think you can do better than that.Loved it, in spite of the flaws, but was struggling with the use case. I'd agree with this 100% its probably not enough of an event for it to be classed as a weekend car, particularly if you have something else. I've had mine 2.5 years now but I still love it but more for its ability to do just about anything and do it well. I did a weekend away on the MTB in the lakes last week. Bike went in the boot and I had a hoot driving there and back. My old STi feels much more of an event but it frustrates me that it doesn't feel anywhere near as sharp to steer as the GR and even though they are separated by 16 years they are very similar in what they do and how they deliver it so I'm currently thinking of flogging the Subaru and getting 987/981 Spyder to fulfil the weekend fun car duties. I am always reaching for my GT3 keys.

Shouldn’t the Yaris be the daily and then the weekend fun the GT3? I doubt many people given the option to drive a GT3 or Yaris would pick the Yaris. I am always reaching for my GT3 keys.

The Yaris probably fits the gap as a winter weekend toy but you’ve got 6 months til that will happen.

Agreed for UK roads between a manual 997 GT3 or the GR I’d prob take the GT3 , gets less clear the more modern/PDK you go

Anyone with a GT3 and a GR Yaris would not take a second glance at the GR on a warm sunny day. The opposite would be true on a damp winters day. Completely different use cases for those with the financial means.
The problem with a GT3 is on a warm sunny day is it’s way way too fast to stretch its legs on the road and as the GT3s get newer that problem becomes more pronounced Jamessd said:

I have the 991.2 GT3, the sound when you are on it is just virtually irreplaceable. I take my GT3 out regardless of weather too.GRY too muted and was the definite downside on my demo, still took the plunge though on a cancelled order.
Just doesn't excite me enough on drives. I'll keep it a touch longer though.
And, yes, its a unfair comparison anyway.

981 Spyder and GRY are the perfect 2 cars for my needs :-)dvshannow said:

To be fair that’s the case with any modern performance car, in fact I often feel the same about my GR Yaris on a damp winter day!BHP levels starting to get pretty insane now... "We just made 740hp at the hubs with the RODENT Yaris!"

Bought a red one as a birthday gift for my parents. 5k on the clock non circuit pack. Still keeping its previous incarnation the Gazoo vitz but that’s heading into storage.
So ordered a few mods from japan , circuit pack brakes, Hks parts etc MPS5s
Volk / rays wheels on order but 8 months lead time
Horrific main dealer experience sadly but ..
Anyways will be their main car & they currently on a uk road trip with it
Only driven it once but felt like my old TME evo
