Thanks guys

Just been looking at chassis numbers and it looks if they are continuous from mk1 to mk2 ie
I looked at a late build mk1 in early January 2024 and the chassis number was:
JTDAF4E300AO 24564
  • **************337xx
Fast forward to the car I have just ordered and everything the same apart from last 5 numbers.
So indication of cars built and only 9-10k mark 2?

Has anyone had the anti collision system kick in automatically?

Something spooked it today on a spirited back road drive. I had a heart in mouth moment as it effectively reduced my braking heading into a bend.

Normally if ABS triggers I would normally back off and re apply braking but the auto system just mashes the brake pedal to the floor and triggers ABS to almost a full stop.

Luckily there was nobody behind me ..

A couple of times in town when it gets a bit sketchy around parked cars. Never out of town.

I've had my car for two years now and it's done 15k miles.
I get the impression lately that the engine is starting to loosen up and rev better, anyone else notice this at this mileage or am I imagining it?

I've just passed 66k and thought to myself that the engine was now just coming into its own. A remarkable little car; never once regretted buying it.

Don't get me wrong, it's still drives as tight as the day I got it, just a bit more fluid.

There's another thread currently running as to the integrity of car manufacturers and I couldn't agree more (after various VAG products), Toyota absolutely excels.

while keeping the mk1 (I married a good one biggrin )

Turn expert mode on and you’ll avoid it kicking in. It will alarm though.
