I think the decision has already been made for you, sounds like you won't be able to get hold of one unless you got an order in during that initial 90 minute slot.
Yes, saw an article in EVO which suggested the UK allocation had sold out "in a matter of minutes". Assuming that to be true you're presumably into either paying a premium to someone who's looking to flip their car for a quick profit or you hope to land on a cancellation....DJMC said:
Thing is... you'd really want to test drive one before ordering wouldn't you. I'd never buy a car on hype.
I remember 20yrs ago going to Mercedes Coventry and asking to test drive an SL. The salesman laughed... "nobody test drives an SL, they sell by reputation." I walked out...
The £1000 is fully refundable. Maybes some cars will be cancelled after a test drive. I remember 20yrs ago going to Mercedes Coventry and asking to test drive an SL. The salesman laughed... "nobody test drives an SL, they sell by reputation." I walked out...
Of course that would be silly mind considering the flippage potential.
All very odd.
You do wonder about cars from all manufacturers currently being built are they putting sub standard parts in when they can’t get hold of the original Items
Radio silence so they are embarrassed about something on the cars already imported and don’t want it to leak out
Hence why no more build slots for those waiting until it gets sorted whatever it is!
Sub standard chip in a safety system ?

Slightly off topic but I went in to a Toyota dealership here in Wales to have a look at their latest SUV EV. The one with (terrible) long name of numbers and letters. Told by the dealer that they had one out the back but could not show it to me as it has already been recalled as one of the wheels had fallen off! Probably the bizarrest excuse of not being shown a car at a dealership! So model officially taken off sale until Toyota find the solution so could not even show me the car. This has been confirmed by car mag press reports, that the wheel did indeed fall off without warning. Shocking for any make of car but even more so from a Toyota.
Just came across this thread and have come across engine failures in the USA for the GR86 after track use even though Toyota encourage track use. Warranty repair also refused for one particular owner. So would not surprise me if Toyota are holding back to make sure there is no engine weak point. Best to sort before it goes on sale and to customers.

Cars were arriving in June and went immediately on hold, before all those engine issues were in the press and on social media.
The only "detail" they are willing to give in writing is "This delay is effecting the whole of Europe as the vehicles now need to meet the new European conditions."
Anyone's guess then... Maybe fleet emissions as all the wheels fell off their electric cars! (...and Aygo X is on hold too due to brake issues).

So, have any of the dealers received any actual cars through as yet, customer or demonstrator?
It’s like trying to get blood out of a stone trying to get information from local dealer. They just do not return any calls!
My dealer (Twickenham) told me (around 10 days ago) that mine is expected to arrive 3rd week of Nov. They don't volunteer any information, you really have to ask everything yourself! It’s like trying to get blood out of a stone trying to get information from local dealer.
