I currently have a 21 Jazz hybrid, unfortunately the infotainment control unit failed so had to be replaced under warranty.

The dealer gave me a copy of the warranty invoice... £2,300 is what you would pay if it failed outside warranty!

£2,300 is more than 10% of the new list price for the whole car.

You can buy an iPad for £300 that has a bigger & better screen and more processing power...

The new Jazz also has plastic wheel trims fitted, the cost of a replacement piece of plastic that clips onto the alloy wheel underneath... nearly £150 per wheel!

Partly the reason I run an older simpler Honda which has been stripped down and rebuilt, with underseal applied everywhere, it will last many years
and cost me very little, spares aplenty and I have loads of them dry stored. Never been shafted by a main dealer and never will.

High price for replacement parts common on many products.

A Braun Model3 electric shaver is £36. A replacement cutter head is £24 - 2/3 the cost of a new complete shaver. Many other examples.

Honda Accord ABS thing is £3500 from Honda, Bosch service centre can sort it for £500.

Honda wanted £800 for an alternator! Even and OEM replacement was £450.

I remember on my old accord, a plain 2.0 manual - clutch change was £800, this would have been maybe 6 years ago!

Those prices are nuts! They surely cannot be a reflection of the cost of production. Some massive profiteering going on there. And the cars are good but it's not like they are cheap to buy in the first place.

BTW the VGS steering rack through a U.K. Honda dealer in 2013 was just north of £14.5k.

Well this is timely.

Took my MY21 Jazz in for its first service. £295. Bit steep for a minor service on a runabout with no extra work required, but fine. I know that costs have gone up. Dealer was lovely.

Asked to buy a wheel and tyre. There is no spare wheel in the Jazz and nowhere to put one, so I just want an extra wheel and tyre that I can keep in the boot if I go on long road trips, especially abroad.

Quote: £600 for the wheel and £100 for the tyre. £700 total. This is for a 16 inch wheel and a very ordinary tyre.

Even the dealer was embarrassed.

So I will look for another option. Any suggestions welcome.

I wonder how much it would cost to buy a Jazz made up of parts sold at RRP.

Someone on another forum managed to find a new alloy wheel (not matching the standard ones) with a new winter/all season tyre on it... for under £200 total. Only £50 more than just buying the plastic wheel trim alone from Honda.

I believe it was from Europe, but there must be options available in the UK for a compatible wheel.

Halfords do a space saver with wheel/tyre/jack/etc in a storage bag for £207 for a 21 Jazz:

RH004 Road Hero 15" 125/80/15 - £206.50

Many thanks! I will do some research.

If you don’t mind not having the £150 plastic wheel trim cover, there is a used wheel for £80 on eBay currently:

I've seen the Belgian Jazz accessories price list - only £300 for a Honda 16 inch Jazz alloy wheel there.

If you are travelling near a Honda dealer on holiday it might be half price.

I’ve bought a fair few parts from Cox Motor Parts over the years. They’ve always been spot on.

I did think of Cox but they don't seem to do wheels for the current gen Jazz. The one above is for the previous gen I think frown

I've bought a lot of S2000 parts from the USA over he years, prices are usually around 40% of UK prices, rising to about 50% after delivery and duties.

Honda UK/Europe pricing is scandalous.

My replacement S2000 engine, fortunately under warranty, came with an invoice of nearly £23k.

Needed a few bolts and fixings for the rear brakes on my old prelude, tried to get the right spec bolts but couldn't find anything, no kits on ebay or even anything I could cut to size. Had to go through the dealer; £40 for 12 bolts.

was looking at newish cars, not anymore, currently driving a 13yr old CR-V.

I have a 16"x6" alloy that was a spare on my Honda Civic but only used once for 12 miles. Has a Michelin 205/55 tyre fitted.
What ET (offset) does your car need?
Interested?

Wheel probably no use to you as 5 bolt & Jazz is 4?
