Too late for me mine was nicked last week. Professional- behind security gates, removed steering lock no broken glass and no key/relay. Really miss it thought it would be a keeper
Ah mate sorry to hear that. Utter scumbags. Hope Lexus pull their finger out and do something about this.
Sorry to hear of the theft issues.
Is wilksy still here? If yes, what was the problem you had with the windscreen?
I have a curious fault with mine. At speeds of over (almost exactly) 180 kph I get a metallic-sounding buzzing noise which I think is wind resonance which appears to come from the top of the windscreen. It gets louder with speed. My local AD is unable to replicate the fault because they can't drive over 130 kph, although they recognise there is an issue from the sound file I sent them. Their 'advice' is to book it in in Germany, where they might be authorised to test drive at higher speeds, but that's not especially helpful!
That aside, and it is quite a serious aside, it's a fantastic car.

I had an issue with the windscreen trims after mine was replaced, they wouldn't stay properly clipped in - and sometimes caused resonance. Is wilksy still here? If yes, what was the problem you had with the windscreen?

This issue was known to exist from the factory in some USA cars, in my case it was only after they were refitted by autoglass...

Sounds like a different issue as mine hasn't been touched and it's definitely an externally-generated wind noise that's linked to speed. This issue was known to exist from the factory in some USA cars, in my case it was only after they were refitted by autoglass...

IIRC yours was a new build? That being the case you should have access, via email to the Lexus concierge, (posh version of customer services) put the issue to them instead and see what they come back with.
They were very helpful to me when I had questions/issues to chase down.

Yes, mine was new. I'm on the Continent but I hadn't heard of Concierege. I'll take a look, thanks. That being the case you should have access, via email to the Lexus concierge, (posh version of customer services) put the issue to them instead and see what they come back with.

Yep still here, my windscreen issue was the auto high beam function, sometimes it would work and sometimes it would refuse to switch back to high beam after it has auto dipped.
It went back a couple of times both of which the fault couldn't be replicated, the solution was to recalibrate the windscreen which was not covered by the warrenty and would be £180 + VAT and if that didn't work there was no refund.
I sort of gave up with the LC after that, it was a car I never thought I could afford, was lovely to look at and drive but the trips to the dealer just got so annoying, I don't think I would ever buy a Lexus again, which is a shame.

Stolen from SE London. Apparently recovered in Essex today. Not sure if I want it back after a week. Who knows what has been done to it. waiting for Police to give me more info as to what state its in.
My guess is possible front bumper damage to access the canbus ecu and the car’s location being in/near shipping containers. Again.

Fingers crossed it was kept in a decent state as they hoped to export and sell it.What’s the latest on the security situation with the LC?
I am tempted by one , but have these gone the way of range rovers in terms of risk of theft and resulting insurance premiums?
Shame if so, as the only things I can find against it for my needs are the width of it and small boot space. Otherwise tempted to move into one from my current LS430…

Nothing really available, Lexus offering a tracker and the insurance companies are measuring out a kicking to the owners - not quite on RX levels, but people are seeing considerable increases at renewal.
Thanks for that. How annoying. Wonder if something will be sorted. Would there be aftermarket immobilizer options at all? My dad had one fitted to his Abarth as apparently those are vulnerable too.
Even my LS430 had its doors opened and locking wheelnut set and an iPhone charger stolen! So petty.
After emailing customer services Lexus have offered me a cat S7 tracker and an OBD geofence device as of a week ago and they have said they are working on a can blocking device.
As I already had a (better) S5 tracker with additional immobiliser from when I bought the car in early 2023 their offer is basically useless. They have therefore agreed to refund me half the cost of my tracker - it would have been a refund for the full amount if I’dpaid through the nose had the tracker fitted via Lexus.
Note their offer doesn’t seem to include immobilisation which I’d argue is absolutely essential.
Their S7 allows the tracker co to track the car - my S5 allows ME to track it with a very good app. Their geofence device appears to alert the owner when the car is moved - my immobiliser prevents that but I’ve requested they fit it anyway. The can device they’re planning sounds like a Ghost canbus immobiliser.
My insurance hasn’t changed this year - I’m with classicline.
From the forums and twitter I think I know of three LCs plus the one above that have been affected - two stolen with one recovered, one attempted theft with iirc £3800 of damage.
The LC is utterly brilliant - but big with a smallish boot! Fit a tracker and immobiliser (chances are like me your insurers will insist on a tracker anyway) and drive the wheels off it.
