No, that's not right. Out of interest, when they removed the discs to skim them, did they put the electronic handbrake in service mode?
Yes, I did that for them. Is there copper grease that should have gone on the pads or lube on the caliper? I’d be surprised if the caliper is sticking on a 4 year old car corrieb74 said:

Have the pads been re-installed correctly?

All I can say is I don't grease mine. Seems odd - anything related to traction control do you think? Is this street driving or track?

The discs were skimmed on a lathe but they did a pretty horrible job. Left grooves like a vinyl record. The heat build up is after hours at 80mph. The brakes work perfectly fine. I was surprised though that one disc was hot enough to sizzle water. I’m on track tomorrow. Fingers crossed it’s all good. Thanks for the input
Very happy to report that I had an epic Trackday at COTA yesterday. The car was faultless in 35+ degree heat and the brakes held up extremely well.
This trip has made me fall in love with the Alpine in a whole new way. On Tuesday I was part of a filming day with the Everyday Driver channel. As part of the production, I got to drive a GT4, a couple of Emiras, a GR86 and a Z06 C8 Corvette. All of these cars had admirable qualities and I see why they're lauded, but none of them were the complete package the Alpine is (for me). That I can drive it 10 hours in relative comfort, that I don't worry about driving on rough roads, that it sips fuel on long journeys, that it pulls so nicely through the gears even at 10,000ft, and then that I can pound round a track lap after lap keeping up with Cadillacs and Caymans, is amazing to me.

Oh, cool! That sounds like a ton of fun! Does that mean there's an episode featuring the A110 coming in the near future?leglessAlex said:
It s fantastic that you love your car and for a GT4, Emira and GR86 I completely agree with you.
The engine alone from the Z06 would have turned me, however
Looks like an amazing trip.
The Z06 engine was awesome. Very aggressive throttle mapping in sport mode. That said, I had a GT350R with a naturally aspirated flat plane crank V8 that has more of a warble I prefer to the Z06 sound. The engine alone from the Z06 would have turned me, however

Looks like an amazing trip.

A roadtrip film that happens to feature the car, yes. I'm making it available to other content creators, so we'll see.
Awesome. Will keep an eye out for that.Other than Throttle House (who drove the A110 on a UK trip), most North American creators haven't laid their paws on one. I'm sure they'd love to. You must feel like a bit of a celebrity

How did you like the hydraulic steering on the Emira vs. that of the A110?

Indeed. Leaving the car at WCCS for a bit, so you can draw your own conclusions on that Other than Throttle House (who drove the A110 on a UK trip), most North American creators haven't laid their paws on one. I'm sure they'd love to. You must feel like a bit of a celebrity

Hang on how did this happen ! Temporary import plus how was insurance resolved ? Do tell more please
Yea, temp import, EPA exemption. Insurance is an ongoing saga. Company that agreed to cover me have changed their minds halfway through the adventure. Fortunately I’ve now covered 90% of the trip without incident. jont- said:
When you said COTA I wondered if that was the Everyday Driver trip. Did Todd or Paul manage to have.a drive of the Alpine? I think it's more of a Todd car, but I'd hope both would love it, even if the badge is wrong for Paul
Certainly sounds like you had an amazing time.
Yea they both drove it. It was so fun to hang out with them. They’re exceptionally lovely people.
For those who went and those who wanted to, there's now some great youtube content popping up from the Alpine 70th event in Dieppe recently.
