I wrote a little story of my first experiences with A110. I've owned my A110 for a month now and I've driven 3,000 km. In summary, I like the car very much. More details here:

Great write-up - nice one Portti. Glad you are enjoying your car.

Absolutely love mine. Took it for its first post run in blast at the weekend - absolutely brilliant.

Has anyone test driven a gen 2 car with the 300ps motor and can compare it to a gen 1 car?

I wonder if there might be value in trying to get a deal on a late gen 1 if they basically drive the same.

Personally I'm not fussed about the infotainment system as I got on fine with it in my last car. It can then be modded using life accessories to be as good if not better than a standard gen 2?

Does anyone have the weight penalty for the comfort seats and also the heated seats?

I now can't decide which way to go for by soon to be toy!

The car would be a daily for my wife so really need to go the comfort route due to a constant need to change seating height.
If I recall the Legende weighs 29kg more than the Pure. A bit of that is the wheels (the basic Pure has the lightest wheels), the sports exhaust is worth a bit too. Let's say, as a minimum, the comfort seat cost at least 20kg

Mine went in for its 3-year service and MOT yesterday - Winchester turned it around in a day including the fuel pump recall.

I did have a chat about an upgrade, but the drive back was ace. I'm not sure I want to spend money on swapping almost for the sake of it. I should just spend more time in it...

On closer inspection, no. A couple of ex demo Pure's but otherwise they all appear to be base spec gen 2.

There's a thread discussing service costs about a month ago but a few hundred quid a year gradually rising on a three year cycle I believe

Interesting there is a fuel pump recall as I saw David from Life110 post about having an issue with his.

I know the older 2.0 Megane's used to have fuel pump issues and they almost became a serviceable item but not early on as the A110's age.

I'm off to Winchester later today for an MOT… Exciting times. I wonder if mine has had the fuel pump recall already.

Just back from third service (including brake fluid change) in France (Bordeaux, Bruges). Cost was 634 EUR - Equivalent to 542 GBP. Alpine Centre Bordeaux were very friendly and helpful. They also did the fuel pump recall .... and gave us tickets for the tram into Bordeaux Centre (result).

I've been given an upgrade cost of £21k from a 2019 Pure with options to a new build A110 with Atelier paint, comfort pack, heated seats, and mirror pack - about £10k more than my "go for it" threshold.

That means about 70% of original cost retained as a trade-in, which isn't bad. I am considering the extended warranty.

I was playing around with the configurator (for fun) to see what the price would be for an equivalent car as l have now - 2020 GT - 5K Euro more. I then played around to keep the same 250 ps power unit as l have now and fully spec’d up but without the foot rest (an option l don’t need, and reduces footwell space), and with the compromise of no heated comfort seats, we are talking about an 8K Euro difference between today’s Pure and today’s GT... plus there’s the advantage of a more comfortable ride with the 17 inch brakes. I always assumed l would go for a new GT if l was ever to change. But with that delta, l doubt it. Essentially, the 8K Euro is for the 300ps and extra torque. Not sure my Man Maths can close that gap! If there was a a reputable firm offering to adjust the transmission software as Alpine have also done, as well as on the ECU; l’d be tempted to go the Pure route and get a Life110 remap...

I would do the same, except I do like the premium sound system which I don't think is available in the pure?

So I'm happy to stick with my car and put up with the dodgy infotainment.

Nice to see on the used market that prices are easing up.

Once they are around 40K, I may be getting one.
I guess that you will need to have some patience then...if they ever get to 40K. In Europe the cheapest A110 on the market are around 58K euro (= 49K UK pound).

What is that about the transmission software? Is there an update been done by Alpine (and what changed)?

If I’ve got the gist of it right, there’s now a torque limit in the software that needs access to the gearbox ECU to remove it/fool it. It affects post-21 model year cars.

It’s a pain, but it’s not insurmountable, it’ll be solved by all parties eventually. Worth nothing that to my knowledge there is no hardware changes, and many many cars have been comfortably running around 380nm for thousands of miles and many trackdays.
