I see why all you Brits are taking PPF. It really adds to the colour depth of the paintwork! I never hear anyone in NL about it though.
I have PPF and I don't think it was worth the money.Mine has slightly peeled around the crease of the lights, it's difficult to jet wash as you need to be mindful of the PPF and also bugs seem to stick to the PPF really badly and take a lot of scrubbing to get them off.

Did the detailer make any comment regarding the quality of the paint job? I have heard Porsche PTS is a bit better quality than the standard Porsche paint so I'm hoping Atelier colours are similarly improved over the standard paint although one poster mentioned Alpine has struggled with quality on a few of the colour options leading to them being withdrawn. I have a Tulipe noire car coming in December.AlexNJ89 said:

The people who did my Alpine didn't do quite such a perfect job as the company that did the McLaren, but they were cheaper & their price included ceramic coating too - I think the ceramic coat really helps stop things sticking to the car. I'm very pleased I got my car covered. If it starts peeling off, I'll take it back & get them to do it properly. I agree, you shouldn't be using a high pressure hose on the car if you have PPF, but I've never used one on any car, so this is no problem for me.

I don't think PPF is a fit and forget option. The company that fitted mine advised caution when using a pressure washer -and never at full force- as well as recommending using a specific bug lifter/dissolver spray as soon as possible to prevent insect remains becoming embedded in the coating. Given that it has rained fairly solidly since I had the PPF fitted I have no way of testing either theory.Mine has slightly peeled around the crease of the lights, it's difficult to jet wash as you need to be mindful of the PPF and also bugs seem to stick to the PPF really badly and take a lot of scrubbing to get them off.

I have had an A110 on my list of "cars I would like to own" for several years. I am delighted that my new car has just been delivered to the dealer. This replaces my Cayman R that I had for 9 years and which I sold in the summer.
oooo La Laa!slightly rarer than the Cayman lol. Expect lots of attention and questions...

Hi, I did ask and he said the paint was very good. burty39 said:

Hi, I did ask and he said the paint was very good. The colours withdrawn early were the lighter yellow/orange shades, presumably due to difficulties in colour matching between the metal and plastic surfaces - this is not unique to Alpine. That probably sounds like a simple thing to fix, but it may require production inefficiencies that the manufacturer can't accept. (Whereas a custom spray booth might be able to keep applying more colour, several trips through a production spray facility can play havoc with overall throughput of cars.)
Ref: PPF - the guys who did mine did provide some guidance on how to jetwash it, which essentially amounted to 'don't point the nozzle at any of the exposed edges', and it's been fine so far.
