Correct on all points!
I think the Bond weighs about 0.75 ton, and that's with a cast iron block, cylinder head and brake drums...

And the connection is Giovanni Michelotti, who designed the cars each of mine is based on: the A110 Berlinette, and the Triumph Herald. nerd
Dammit, I was going for Simca and the link being them both French.
To be fair it does look just like the 1000 Coupe (sort of!).

The Alpine is my daily drive - the Stinger gets the heavy jobs.
I like the fact they are both a bit leftfield but excellent.

Mine is my main car. It replaced an Evora & I don't miss the Evora at all. I use an X-Type estate when I need a boot - usually, that's just once a week, when I stick my mountain bike in the back to go & ride with friends. I also have a Honda CRX, which has been on SORN since I got the X-Type.

I dailied my A110 S for about 8 months, eventually got tired of the st roads and S suspension, so bought an A8 to daily. 6 months later I'm still tired of the suspension in the Alpine, so they're both going for a Carrera T instead. My recommendation would be to get the Pure (or whatever they call it these days).

I had a Carerra T for 3 years - it's a good car but if you don't like the suspension on the S you will hate the T. I'm a big Porsche fan and have owned quite a few over the last 20 years, but the Alpine is much more fun

Edited to add: daily is a Golf GTi Clubsport - an absolutely brilliant thing

A110S used for daily commute and the wife has a Skoda Kodiaq for family duties. Find the Alpine a really comfy cruiser in normal mode and auto in the traffic, then switch to track mode for the blast home!

Thanks for all the responses. A very eclectic mix of other cars from (gorgeous) DS to Stinger, superb!

Deary me, I hope I can get some enjoyment out of it otherwise!

GTI Clubsport is a great choice, I also considered one of those.

Mine's part of my ideal fleet.

i3s
C-Class convertible diesel
Discovery 4
A110

All bases covered for all trip types. The A110 isn't intended as a garage queen, but isn't the daily either (the i3s is, it's brilliant for everyday running about). I've done about 5000 miles in the A110 this year, mostly longer trips, weekends away, jaunt into Europe, weekend fun. I'm very keen not to get precious about it and use it.
The other two give the seats, space, open air, super efficient long distance cruising, tip run, bad weather and range options.

Honestly, unless I had to sell one, I'm not sure what I'd replace any of them with as each is ideal for what it gets used for. All of them in my eyes are keepers.

The 911 really only comes alive at higher speeds and on the B roads I generally drive it was still too stiff. My S1 Elise with a whole 118bhp on the other hand is absolutely sublime!

Interesting, mine also replaced an Evora (a GT410) and like you, I don't miss the Evora at all. Well, maybe I miss the noise a little, but that's about it.

Mine is alongside a Skoda Superb estate and a Honda e, but the Alpine has done more mileage than both put together in the past year. I was just short of 20k miles in 12 months in the Alpine doing all sorts of stuff, and it still feels just as special as it did the first time I got in it.

Double French here as well

Alpine a110 legende very much the second car.
DS7 Louvre the main motor which is the opposite of the alpine ( big, comfy, soft , slow).

I always hate to admit this on here; but I prefer driving the DS!

Volvo XC40 is my daily driver - Superb for the long drives between France (where we live) and the UK on trips to visit family. It has bundles of safety features that make the journey less tiring and a little more relaxing.

Seat Arona,
RRS P400
Alpine A110 PE

They all get used for various duties, for example visiting son and family close to Geneva, the RRS. We have used the Alpine for this although we generally take over and bring back far more than it can carry.
The Alpine is used at least a couple of times week and is not spoilt, its lived outside since I bought it.
The Arona is a great run around plus elderly mother in law can get in and out of it easily.

In my opinion A110 is quite well suitable to daily duties. I have had my A110 as daily driver for the past six months. I have driven 10.000 km during that time with Alpine and have found it perfectly usable. Sure, it is only two seater and storage capacity is small but if that is something you can live with, then I don't see any reason why it couldn't be used daily.

I do have another car (2019 Fiesta ST) which I've used couple of times in the past six months but the A110 has been my main car during that time. My A110 will however not be used during winter and I've just put it to winter storage.

I have just released updated story on my experiences with the A110 on my A110 website if somebody wants to read more:

I’m down to ‘just’ the Alp and an E30 M3 these days. I guess the 110 is indeed the daily, as I’m not entirely sure what the M3 is for given the Alpine is significantly better at absolutely everything in every way. Although it does look cool.

Thinking of picking up an i3 to do farty town/tip duties, which is kinda like a scalextric version of the OP’s A2 suggestion (good call btw).

SQ7
and a 22 year old suzuki with a CarPlay head unit.

This covers everything. A110 for fun, SQ7 for distance, Suzuki for city.
