Manual only suggests E5 or E10 and tells you to look at the clearer guidance on the fuel flap
I believe that EU regulations require all cars to run on 95 octane - but that doesn't necessarily mean they have run best on it. I can't believe that if no cars performed better on 97/99 octane then some body would have debunked their use. In days gone by use of low octane fuel in high compression engines would result in server pinking. These days the use of knock sensors and sophisticated ECU ignition mapping mean that generally doesn't happen.

That doesn't necessarily mean that the A110 performs noticeably better on 99 octane. The difference might be so small that it only manifests itself on the dyno.

This is what my filler flap says... can't see a 'recomendation' on there? It says use either and refers you to the handbook, which also says use either.

Where is this 'recomendation' to use SUL?

Shell V-Power.

Is there any other fuel?

So no 'recommendation' then, thought not! Why make it up?

O/T but I think on my old M / RS Cars it did say V Power was recommended on the inside face of the fuel flap.

TX.

As a data point I only use 98.

My dealer verbally recommended 98 during delivery. Maybe it is because of the fuel quality in this part of the world.

Some people can't cope with not being right.
