Join us for the PH Trophy at Daytona Sandown

Like karting? Love PHers? Free the evening of May 25th? Join us at Sandown

Everybody loves a bit of karting, right? There’s nothing quite like the fun of you, a seat, four wheels and an engine haring around a track. Even better with some mates to race (and beat, of course). We’re no different at PH; with it having been far too long since a proper get together - leave alone some karting - we’d like to cordially invite you to the PistonHeads Trophy.

Taking place at Daytona Sandown on May 25th, the inaugural PH Trophy is as simple as the folk that have devised it. We’ll be racing SODI RT8 390cc 4-stroke go-karts, which are capable of 50mph on Sandown’s 900m outdoor GP layout. Which will feel plenty quick enough with bum scraping the floor and feet in line with the front wheels. The evening will will start with a 10-minute practice session, followed by a 20-minute battle royale (or sprint race, to use the technical term). Arrival time is 17:00 for check-in and our session will end at 18:45. The PH Trophy is aimed at novices and those with limited experience of outdoor karting, so if you already own an OMP Carbon Rib Waistcoat or Sparco Advanced Adult Neck Support, this probably isn’t the evening for you.

For those more casual enthusiasts, we have 25 spots available at £57.50 each. To be there, call Alex Osborne at Daytona on 033 033 27870 and say you want to book onto the PistonHeads Trophy event, then add your name to the event here. Balaclavas are compulsory; if you don’t have your own, you can buy a reusable one for £4 on the day.

Fancy coming along just to watch? Sandown has parking for 50 cars, so let us know in the comments if you want to park up and spectate!

Oooh love a bit of karting, shame my daughters probably a bit too young to sign up for this with me as she's currently going through karting academy.

Love this track. The trick used to be to keep it planted around the first corner, but that was back in the twin honda days... haven't driven the new 390cc machines.

Thanks Ben and TeamPH for organising and was great to see you all the other PH-ears there today.

Had a great time, congrats to the P1 Kevin and P2 Shippster. You two were off like rockets from the start line and then the next time I saw you was when I was on passing the finish line and you were on the other side of the track, making it look easy!

Let’s get another of these in the diary soon-Buckmore Park perhaps?
