Looking for advice re winter gloves and tips for keeping warm when doing outdoor karting races in the winter … have a few evening 1hr events in the UK coming up and worried hands and feet may suffer !

Thanks

If it is a non MSA cold/wet event, I always wore Gill sailing gloves. Neoprene, designed to get very wet, totally wind proof and grippy palms for pulling rope. Warm hands at the end of an 80 minute stint in winter conditions. Huge difference over standard karting gloves where my hands always froze from the wind chill after a couple of laps.

Also Dubarry goretex sailing boots kept my feet warm and dry even in monsoon conditions. Flat soles gave excellent pedal feel.

Then a wet oversuit to keep the body dry, but it will get warm like a sauna. So only worn when very wet or very cold.

Got to factor the weight of the rain. Few drops in a shower no problem, constand downpour during a half hour stint and your suit will be soakng and you will have to drag that extra weight round the track.
