All useful info thanks all. Well I did say speak some sense to me...
3rd party warranties aren't usually worth the paper they're written on unfortunately. The lord flasheart thread is worth googling if you want to see what happens when you try to claim.
Well shame as the cars look great, but if they're not willing to back it up with a longer term warranty product similar to their competitors I personally would not feel comfortably proceeding, particularly given the well documented problems and issues already incurred and well publicised on forums like this one. May perhaps also explain why the depreciation is so high. Good luck to those that do go ahead with a purchase.

I don’t see why the same posters want to return again and again to this thread whining and moaning about the value of cars they don’t own and won’t buy.
Still, it is PH.
I don't see many posters whining and moaning about the value of cars they don't own. Perhaps you could point them out!Still, it is PH.
I decided to cancel my i4 order after being a very early depositor - originally for a V6. I'm super glad I did. If there had been issues, I would not have enjoyed them and trying to get them resolved, although I hold B&C in very high regard. I am though fiercely critical of Lotus UK. Matt Windle went out there and his talk of an amazing new start, all the vision, the investment, becoming a proper car company and where has that gone now? I guess it was his broken price promise that did for him. Gavin, Russell what great guys. How did it all fall back to be no better and probably worse than Lotus of old?
I have hopes though for a used Emira in the future. That you'll be able to get them with moderate confidence of tech issues and ones where the paintwork is absolutely fine. Until then I'll have to make do with my 60+ year old Elan which is fragile as f#ck, but with near on 190bhp what do I expect

no price rises for early depositors 'the price you have been quoted is the price you pay' guff which was an outright lie and despite my car spec order being submitted just in time pre price increase from £75995 to £81995 basic Lotus still managed to cock things up in such a way that I was regrettably forced to cancel my car when it had been actually been built and awaiting collection.
Having seen the state of a number of cars being PDi'd at...wait for it....British Car Auctions lol because the Lotus dealers couldn't cope.....for those who opted for home
delivery....the dodged bullet was further confirmed.
Having said this I still have a huge want to run an Emira as a weekender if only for their drop dead gorgeous looks but now reckon the sweetspot age to buy a used one could be at around 5 years hopefully when all the numerous and ongoing issues have been sorted.

Yes I had a really panicky call from Lotus asking me to do the checkout process and then a call from B&C asking when I was picking up. Someone also sent me a picture of my car outside B&C. That was a surprise. Lotus managed to build it, register it and deliver it to the dealer, all without asking me if I actually still wanted it!Johnson897210 said:
Having a look at the stock on autotrader and despite the feedback here I have to say I'm a bit tempted, someone speak some sense into me please...
Buy from a main dealer is best option...you can still get a decent one from Auto 100 though just do not expect 2 keyfobs & or a V5C LOL plus if it has issues they will refer you to Lotus which means back of the queue to find a dealer who wants leftovers to fix under warranty...after they have fixed all the Emira they did sell!
Would not let it put you off at all they are stunning cars....just a great shame the dealer network support is not what you would expect & Auto 100 do not let you test drive so there is that as welll....!
