If the future was brighter then some dealers would have purple or eos green cars in by now. I’ve only seen those colours whilst on the factory tour, in March, and the cars I saw were being exported.
No facelift, no Cup model. And fewer places than ever to see or buy a new car. What an absolutely tragic waste.
Let’s hope someone enterprising at the factory is tapping up Amazon to get Theo James driving an Emira for the new Bond film!

I went to the MD's at Colchester, Bradford and Hatfield,it was easly three out of four cars each time and the car I eventually put a deposit down on was at a Kia dealer in Peterborough who's MD owned it as it was the only one I saw with my preferred colour scheme, and a second year service and paint rectification by Silverstone was part of the deal.
The price point is an unusual one,I can't see many selling at the 90-100k mark ( unless they start bringing out a lightweight CS type version which may entice some buyers back),and the cars at 55K ish were never 100k cars at the outset, and as I think I mentioned way back in this thread that the 0 miles 25 plate old stock cars were already at early 70K. It could well be the case that like TVR's when they were under developed at launch, they will be better cars all-round at 5 years down the line.Unfortunately the "wow" factor at launch has been replaced with bad publicity and that tends to stick (a'la Mclaren etc.).I'm also bloody sure that if the latest colours had been available at launch, the early cars would look more enticing..there was barely a colour I liked originally!
McLarens are not a problem brand either. Ask people who actually own them and the fact is - like any performance car - you need to look after them properly - but if you do they rarely cause trouble. Thorney Motorsport or V. Engineering both offer excellent warranties and if they look after the car like I say they are rarely a problem. Same with the Emira - in fact the Emira will cost you way less for an extended warranty and anyway are not a problem model.
If you read my post. I didn’t say either was a problem brand, I said “bad publicity sticks”.
If I could fit in a MCL properly I would have bought one,I personally went to Thorney,Bols, Hatfield and Ryland. I bought a Lotus, you’ve completely misinterpreted my post.

Seems such a shame. Been tempted by one for a while and the prices now for pre reg are really good, but if there are no parts if anything goes wrong I think I may give it a miss.

Such a stunning looking car.

Parts will continue to be available and if not, people step in. There's money to be made either way.

And yes, everytime I look in my garage I know I have one of the best drivers cars ever made. hehe

Apologies if I did that - I'm a little bit sensitive and get fed up with people knocking what I experience as an amazing car. But like I say - apologies none the less.

That’s out of warranty end of this year. It’s not a £60k car in the current market.

Registered November 2022 wasn't it? So out of warranty right about now.

If it’s an approved used car it will come with a 12 months factory backed warranty.

Re: Warranties in general, both Jon Seal and Oakmere (Lotus Cheshire) have both branched out into warranties in recent months.

Maybe a viable alternative….once the factory policy lapses?

This has eased my worries about buying a nearly out of warranty Emira, saying that, I'm still actively looking to buy one through Lotus due to the 12 month extension. Believe Bell and Colville also offer their own also.

Are you sure Lotus still operate that approved used scheme as that was via car care plan who they don't seem to be able to get to do a warranty for them.

Also noticed Oakmere a bit late to the party with my idea of providing a scheme wink

I don’t think the extended warranties from Oakmere or Jon cover bodywork. That’s the big Emira concern.

No aftermarket warranty would.

In normal circumstances its up to the manufacturer to provide a sufficient anti perforation warranty but Lotus choose not to but that's why no cover exists...it shouldn't be needed and its unprecedented really. The closest thing would be McLaren at 5 years on the bubbly paint. Their extended warranty is very good I have used it myself (Car Care Plan) but does not cover paint.

I bought my Evora from Central as an AUC.

It came with a Lotus 12 months factory warranty. I had the a/c repaired under it back in July, no questions asked. wink

Ah so they do still have that going then. Central aren't a main agent for sales though are they?

Didn’t need to use it though biggrin

No, they’re no longer a Lotus main dealer.

No, no longer a main agent, but they still have the right to sell s/h Lotuses as AUCs. Plus they’re still a main service centre.

I had the work done at Oakmere, no issues, had it assessed and approved the same day

hi, I'm after an Evora but they are quite hard to find in the spec I want, so I am starting to look at the Emira, what price point seems right for these dealer and trade, I can see what they are advertised for but as there are quite a few with the same 2023 1st edition spec I assume a deal can be done? I'd be looking v6 manual? Also, I assume that ownership is not as bad as the Internet would have you believe, or am I crazy to sink my money into one currently?
