Don't really understand that ubiquity should be such an issue - unless it's as good as the alternatives.
And the fact that they aren't even remotely ubiquitous.Edited by bcr5784 on Sunday 1st September 22:19
I've no idea where all the people live who say 911/caymans/boxsters are "everywhere". I live in an affluent area of SW London, surrounded by some very affluent areas of the aforementioned, and even here they aren't everywhere. They aren't rare, but you don't see that many about and they stand out strikingly against the sea of grey/black/silver SUVs.

I have owned an Exige S and and Cayman S. I do not track cars so only have road experience to go by.
Both cars were dynamically brilliant, quick, responsive and looked good. The Exige was “cooler” to look at and got a lot of attention as it was bright yellow. The Cayman never really got a second glance and was a darkish silver colour.
Not being a driving god both cars drove amazingly well to me
As much as they were similar they were vastly different. If I tried to sum it up, the Exige was designed for that one perfect drive, when the mood was right, the conditions were right and it’s foibles could be forgotten about,
The Cayman was designed to be great 95% of the time and easy to live with 100% of the time.
That is why Porsche sell so many cars and Lotus will ultimately struggle to survive.
I tracked an Emira 4 cyl auto at Goodwood alongside my 997.1 manual. (It was part of a Lotus promotion.)Both cars were dynamically brilliant, quick, responsive and looked good. It was much faster and sounded surprisingly good, but had nothing like the same steering feel or sense of ‘fun’
I wouldn’t swap if entertainment is what you value.
Having an Emira on order for last 18months, being let down by Lotus cars on missed delivery dates and now being told my car may arrive in 2025 or 2026. I would never be tempted by one of these early Emiras seeing the amount of issues some have over on the Emira Forum, now pre-registered (under 20miles) from a main dealer…..early 70s for V6 and late 60s for 2.0turbo is where I may have to go. I have a V6 manual on order so that’s where my money is heading. I was loaned a car by Lotus and it’s absolutely superb sadly I never seen one at a main dealer that suits my requirements as I’d be interested to see how flexible they are on prices.

Early cars are undesirable in my opinion at any price, warranty ends next year and paint issues being my main concern would rule out any purchase. TempletonPeck said:

I think the paintwork warranty is 8 years not 3, someone posted confirmation from Lotus on another forum to clarify.
Yes apologies…paint warranty on the Emira is 5 years I believe on top of the standard 3, but it’s a little unclearEdited by TempletonPeck on Tuesday 17th September 16:41

Just reading on the Emira forum that it looks like production of the V6 First edition might be at an end and production of the base model will start next year. The first edition has been removed from the American configurator and the base edition added.

It's a 2022 (albeit Dec) 3.5 V6. The text in the advert says £64k, with 18th August date in the URL.
They were seeking 'near offers'. So £60 k now looks a bit desperate, rather than good value IMHO, given the info upthread about early cars.
