Mine, picked up from factory the morning of December 20th 2022 - handed over by the legend that is Scott Walker just before he handed over Mr Schmee's (also in Hethel Yellow) so I win (even though I have no YouTube channel) is now on 32000 miles and is used pretty much daily in all weathers including throughout the winter.

It is not garaged. It gets cleaned once a month at best as I am busy AF with work. It has had three Lotus services and I have just paid for one year Lotus extended warranty.

As well as commuting all over the UK to see clients it goes to The Alps with skis on the rear hatch (going again next week) and loaded to the gunnels with ski gear and booze. Significant exposure to orrible salty roads.

It hasn't melted. I have just had some paint done on one front wing, no blistering on doors or any other areas. Just had wheels refurbed as I had a blind moment in a Lidl carpark and scuffed me alloy so I had all 4 done in case they didn't match.

No real significant mechanical or electronic issues. Coolant pipe clip came off at 1,000 miles and was tightened back up properly. Driver's Heated seat failed and seats were replaced by Lotus (both were replaced in case the new drivers seat didn't match the passenger one as my fat @arse had sat in the drivers one for 15,000 miles and I very rarely have a passenger).

It does more than 30 to the gallon in 6th on autoroute but then you can take it out at 5am in the morning and have a proper wang across country (no longer doing 30 to the gallon at this point, more like 3).

Highly recommended.

Get one.

^ nice review. Anyone know how long you can extend the warranty for? E.g Porsche can be done up to 125k miles or 15 years.

I saw one in our staff car park yesterday. Proper double take as it’s so so pretty.

It’s not a £103k car to me even though it’s one of the best looking cars in recent years. I suppose I still think of Ferraris as £100k cars an that ship sailed long ago.

Why wouldn’t they offer some carbon bits to spec from the factory?
The side intakes, rear diffuser, front intakes etc. They are leaving money on the table.

We're in an era of £90k Audi A3's and £50k Smart Cars .... things certainly have changed.

Lotus have always struggled to sell their carbon options. Yes some models have carbon parts and are popular, but optioning carbon or buying pieces, usually from mansory, has always been hugely expensive. Given the very reasonable (often cheaper than the genuine non carbon part they replace)and quality aftermarket carbon options for the Emira I can’t imagine them being worthwhile to produce themselves.

I was looking at a Golf R in a dealer a few weeks ago - salesman told me, rather sheepishly, that the price was £68,000…
Had to stifle my guffawing.

I find that hard to credit - a Base R is £48k and if you add every option I can only get to £64k...

Every option plus possibly the first year rfl?
I don’t know, but he seemed embarrassed by the price.

My last Golf R 3 years ago with only metallic paint as an option was £48500.

Mad prices….makes the Emira seem decent priced but I couldn’t imagine handing over £100k…maybe a cheap finance payment would sway me.

So a well specced Golf R is just over double a Dacia Bigster automatic.

Sort of makes sense now.

You’ve gone to a lot of effort to prove a point..
Have you just bought an overpriced shopping trolley by any chance laugh

Anyway, he told me £68k - I laughed, and walked out.
Perhaps he was fibbing.

Masses of margin in it. Pro drive made all the bits for the FE Elise.

Remember what L. O. T. U. S. stands for: Less Of The Unnecessary Stuff.

ie less faffing around trying to make money and more time spent perfecting the cornering ability.

Kind of sums up how they've continually been in a bit of a financial mess.

But Daddy Geely's got their back now - at least for a while eh - so we can all relax (kinda).

Haha thanks mate.

Looking at YouTube this morning and one of Bell and Colville's videos came on.

Verdant Green, V6, touring chassis 2023 8000 miles. £59k

and I'd completely changed my mind hehe

Buts it's been reserved already.

Not surprised as I've been to B and C and would feel completely confident buying from them smile
They've got another verdant one just in, (youtube vid last night )
