When it comes to choosing floor mats for a 296, you can either use the standard mats supplied which are simple pieces of interior colour carpet or you can choose an expensive concoction of carpet, leather and alcantara matched to your interior.

In the Ferrari world, mud, grit and other nasties do not exist but out here in the real world, they do and the posh mats will last no time at all.

On another thread, forum member is-uk mentioned a supplier for after-market mats which I have now bought in two styles, carpet and leather or carbon fibre effect leather. I actually prefer the first type which are less expensive and you can see they are trimmed in colour matching leather.

The company, autowin.com, are very amenable to customising the mats to your requirements - they changed the logo to 296 GTS from GTB. The mats are made in Lithuania and if you buy from the UK, import and VAT charges apply.

I can only get so excited by floor mats but I am certainly happy with my purchase.

No problem at all, thanks for doing the research. They arrived within a week or so, only now been able to “install” them.

Would you mind posting a pic of the other ones you bought please (carbon trim)?

Here it is. It has a sort of carbon fibre weave. I prefer the first ones I showed but will keep these for the next replacement.

Very quick service from Autowin as you said. I ordered my set on Friday and they were despatched yesterday. I have an ETA of next week as they send them via FedEx standard shipping.

They arrived today so only 1 week from order to receipt which is pretty impressive. They look to be well made so I'm happy with the purchase.

Definitely going to get some, but given that it takes a week and my car is months away, there seems to be no hurry to place an order.

Just a heads up - the Velcro patches on my mats are coming unstuck from the back of the mats in the Italian heat. I think they need proper glueing or stitching. I will go back to the vendor.

So, the vendor is proving exceedingly unhelpful in resolving the issue so my advice now is to steer well clear.

Sorry to hear your problem. Stitching the velcro retaining patches wouldn't work as the circular thread pattern would be visible on the carpet side of the mat. You can secure the patches back into place using a spray adhesive like 3M 90 Hi Strength Adhesive which has good heat resistance properties.

I glued the Velcro patches back on and they are holding but to be honest, I wouldn’t buy from them again, mainly because the supplier would not stand behind their product or help in any way.
