The problem is that there is nothing personal in the reply from this Personal Case Manager ... and where is the "Customer Relations" ?
It is clear that Porsche can specify cars in a bespoke way ... they make a fortune from it. It's also clear that manufacturers buy assemblies in volume and therefore some options may no longer be available. But sharing this requirement with Porsche in Germany could not do any harm and it would thank the "customer" for his interest in the success of the brand.

Having passed on a new EV Macan, and jumped into a GTS, due to EV uncertainty.

Does anyone know if the new EV could be adapted for ICE?

Doubtful. I think it's going to use the new Q5 platform, just like the present ICE uses the old Q5 platform.Reading this article:

[quote=jgrewal]Bring it on - would there ever be a chance that Porsche would have to reduce the RRP? They won't have any pick up in sales long term. It also doesn't help that EV variant is more expensive than the ICE as someone mentioned above
This US price depreciation of the Taycan from this YouTube review from last month looks shocking but not a surprise

220 on AT now.
Tip of the Iceberg…Silverstone have 22, Solihull 19 according to AUC site….even if you say they’ve performed extraordinarily badly and the average across OPC’s is that they each have 10 that’s well over 400. West London have none listed who would be one of the biggest OPC’s in the country…so I think we can safely say the numbers listed aren’t a representation of reality.

So that's 5% right off the bat. This is unheard of.Sheepshanks said:
Is that (unheard of) a UK thing? I mentioned in the other Macan EV thread a colleague has a Macan GTS. He’s not in the UK and bought it from stock from his local OPC - they had a bunch of them at the time (I looked at their website) and he got €15K discount.
It is (or at least it 'was') for new stock/ex-demos.Augustash said:

If they'd squished the x-axis further it'd look even worse This US price depreciation of the Taycan from this YouTube review from last month looks shocking but not a surprise...

But 40% on a 6-figure exec sports saloon over 4yrs isn't really that bad in "normal land", is it?
The biggest problem seems to be a perception that Porsches don't depreciate. But save for limited run cars, has that ever really been true? And if it has, should it have been?
I do think they have pushed the boat out on list prices for their EV lines and suspect part of that might be them wanting a piece of the (frankly daft) tax breaks that were/are available. That was never going to be a good move when it came to residuals. But then EVs from other makers aren't necessarily "cheap" either.
Once the hysteria settles down I think residuals will shallow out quickly.
There's no way that a battery pack and a motor or two should cost more than an engine and gearbox.
Yes the BOM might be a bit higher but just look at the number of parts and steps that goes into a complete engine and box.
And if MG can knock a 77kwh battery out the door for £20k with a healthy mark up and the rest of a car attached then Porsche can make a 95kwh battery for easily under 5k.
TLDR the EV Mecan should comfortably undercut the ICE Mecan.
