Discounts on new (2024) Taycans

Well, my local dealer (Dick Lovett) must be selling all the Taycans they need to...
Contacted two of the dealerships in the group a couple of weeks ago expressing an interest in a new / nearly new ST or CT - to close before the end of the year. No reply from one. The other asked me to list my desired colours and options which I did immediately. Nothing since.
And, for perspective, I am local and an existing customer having bought 5 cars from them.
I know. I should chase, but perhaps it's for the best (financially for me).

So far so good and might even attempt a trip to the south of France in the spring.
If the Taycan works well for what we usually use the Macan for then that & the 911 with be sold to make way for a McLaren or Ferrari I think. I just wish it was a little smaller.

Keen to hear your thoughts once you have got some miles under your belt.

3 keys? Did you ask for 3 or is that what you get?

Have now done a little over 1000 miles covering different types of journeys and have to say it’s pretty much what I wanted it to be and was expecting it to be (too big!),Keen to hear your thoughts once you have got some miles under your belt.
It’s a really comfortable but not very exciting place to be for most journeys. It’s like sitting on the couch and watching a film you like and have seen a bunch of times. Very comfortable but lacking interest if that makes sense.
Not paying for petrol is great and was part of the reason for getting one. We’re lucky to be able to get free charging from time to time so if we plan it right we’re good for most of our usage. If running costs were not substantially lower on the Taycan I wouldn’t have one.
Whilst there’s little excitement from the drive, it doesn’t matter for what we want the car for, as a couple with our dog it is better than the Macan we had before, it doesn’t look as good (imo) but not bad either. The Macan is going on Tuesday so we’re pretty much committed to this being our ‘family’ (couple and a dog) car.
I did try an E Macan the other day and like the Taycan so much more.
Summary: All things being equal I would keep the Macan but given how much less the Taycan costs to run then it wins as I have a 911 (for now) for the fun trips.
On a side note, the worst issue I have with my GTS, it’s too low and getting in and out has caused some lasting damaged to my left knee.
I now get into the car in a certain way to reduce pain and almost pull myself out of it, it’s a faff but I manage. To be honest when I retire hopefully later this year I’m getting a FFRR and will enjoy being able to get in and out in comfort.
I’ll miss the Taycan, but not that much!

You want the J1.2 with the pimped up air suspension.

Same here. 18k miles in the first year of ownership and love driving it. Dodging potholes is a PITA mind.
Damn, I think you're beating me now. Just under 17k but in 17mths...must try harder.
I can honestly say that stepping into anything else feels like going back 100yrs now.

It’s a base ST with a bunch of options. I don’t think I made my point very well. I like it and it works for us but it’s head over heart for me. I’m not ruling out a higher powered version though but then I think that’ll take away from works well for taking my wife and dog out. What was the spec on yours again?

Small update to my new Taycan ownership.
Turns out I have been driving around on the wrong number plates. It was brand new when purchased in December but for whatever reason it had 24 plates instead of 74 plates (identical letters). Don’t think it had caused any problems but I assume it’s ultimately up to me rather than Porsche to ensure the correct registration is displayed?
Having decided the Taycan will work for driving to France I had to change a couple of tunnel crossings from the Macan to the Taycan. Only change was the car which I had done before at no cost but this time it was asking for an extra £30ish (I think) which I thought unusual so I called up. I was informed it’s because the Taycan is longer therefore an additional cost which is fair enough. It seems there are multiple categories of car pricing which isn’t clear when you initially book.
Other than that, it’s been great. Full range now showing at 300 miles which is still way below the nonsense they publish but heading in the right direction as the weather improves.

They put all EV's in the single decker wide carriages which is extra, that's probably what the charge was for.Turns out I have been driving around on the wrong number plates.
