Car had the battery recall inspection on Monday, no issues reported with the batteries.
Same required again in 60days and so on until the software update is available later in the year, or supposedly keep under 80% charge if the inspection date goes beyond 60days. Admittedly, I just left it set to 85%, and 100% if I needed the bit extra range, before the inspection anyway.
Haven t seen any drop in range since it s been at the dealer for this recall as others have experienced, still shows 190miles at 85% charge.
Pretty sure the software update is being rolled out now - I got an OTA update for battery monitoring software recently...though tbh there are so many reference numbers in and around this, who knows Same required again in 60days and so on until the software update is available later in the year, or supposedly keep under 80% charge if the inspection date goes beyond 60days. Head over to the taycan forum as there's a lot of info on there. A chap's even developed some free software to show you the state of the cells in your battery (just need to plug into the OBD2 port).
I’ll take a look, thanks for the info.
Funnily enough, this morning I received a letter from Porsche saying the update is available to either carry out over WiFi or go to the dealers! It updates other things over WiFi so presume it will this.
I’ll call the dealer back on Monday for some clarity though as surely they had access to the update when it was with them earlier in the week if Porsche were sending letters out to owners about it, but they said it still needed the update when available. The Porsche app still has the warning showing too.

Communication on this has been woeful by the Porsche mothership. And dealers aren't being given much in the way of consistent detail.Funnily enough, this morning I received a letter from Porsche saying the update is available to either carry out over WiFi or go to the dealers! The OTA (not WiFi...at least not on a J1.1 car - comes over the sim in the car) update just popped up on the PCM last week for me. Car has to be parked up and left - it reckoned 7mins. Not sure how long it actually took as I simply started it when I didn't need to use the car for a bit and let it do its thing.
The bigger issue, IMO, is that this isn't even remotely addressing the underlying issue with the battery pack well enough. All it will do is spot issues properly and shut the car down if it spots any. Porsche need to pull their finger out with a much more cohesive strategy for sorting the underlying problem - honesty on incidence of issues would be a good start. But when accountants rule the roost...
