Buy one from an opc (or another dealer) on a pcp.

Give you a 50% value protection and ability to hand back if you can’t sell in the future.
Makes sense, but some of the benefit is negated by 10% interest rate (well, 9.9% last time I looked).
Yeah, I was going to say the same! Their interest rates are usually sky high.

Those are fairly typical these days I believe. My Emira (£70k with £25k deposit) was 0% but I noticed the dealer essentially paid the interest which was about £13,000! Honestly, without them paying that I couldn't have stomached that much interest out of principle.

Apart from the early ones needing replacement heaters are there any other years to avoid or issues to look out for?

Will the defective heaters generally all have failed and been replaced by now?

I quite fancy a Taycan once my EV6 GT gets to around 5 years old (3 years so far. Interestingly it also had a failed PTC heater but replaced in a week by KIA under warranty so it’s not unique to Porsche.)

Do they all charge at 300kW on a DC charger? I like that about the KIA

A friend of mine recently bought a Gen 1 Taycan and it’s currently sat at the dealership with a DC charging fault.

I asked my local Porsche sales contact about the heater issue and he told me that some of the earlier cars which had replacement heaters had the same new faulty part fitted, so failed again in time. So I guess you would have to carefully check the history to confirm that the upgraded heater was fitted. Other than that, he said that newer cars are generally reliable.

Battery issues due to manufacturing fault (affected Jaguar, Audi etc too). Affected cars will have been recalled for software update to monitor, but not necessarily fixed if issue not obvious yet. Most (and all Gen 2s) are fine.

Heaters should all have the uprated one now (recall)...I'd expect any car sold through Porsche to have it - they will be able to confirm.

Max charging speed on a J1.1 is 270kW. They do achieve this, but not for very long. But will maintain high rates for a reasonable time. I've never had an issue with charge speed at DC chargers.

J1.2 (facelift) has a max of 320kW and can sustain higher rates for longer.

Always liked the Taycan since they were launched. Hadn't considered an EV until we ordered a BMW i4 on a bit of a whim. So impresses I thought I'd get a second EV, more to my own preference. Was pleasantly surprised at how cheap the pre-owned Taycan market was (fuelled by various reasons which is another topic) and decided they're probably they best bang-for-buck and driver focused, pre-owned EV available. Set a budget, chose the best I could find, paid cash and have been driving it for the last year or so. Absolutely love it. I don't do a great deal of miles and have only charged away from home a couple of times but in regards to just basic driving pleasure I'd say it's my go-to car, possibly my favourite so far which includes a few exotica. No issues so far and cheap-as-chips to run. It was a one-owner, 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S 93.4kWh in Dolomite Silver. The original owner went crazy on options, 4-zone climate, e-missions, PSCB, Matrix/PDLS+, HUD, Pass. display, comf. seats plus 5th seat, ext lth, SDP, AMB. light, chrono, pan, crests etc etc. Only thing it doesn't have is rear wheel steer and 360 cams (oddly). Purchased from Wolverhampton OPC.

Can anyone comment on the space in the rear of the cross turismo model please?

I’m slowly coming round to these as our next vehicle but it would be a downgrade in luggage capacity and general size. Not wise with 2 kids in child seats.

….might get a roof box for the kids instead l

Depends how tall you are, and what your benchmarks are....

The biggest issue in the rear is footspace IMO, and that the seats are pretty monolithic so can be in your face.

Likely not an issue with kiddy seats. Though at 6'4" I'm not sure a rear facing seat would work behind me.

Here's mine with a chest of drawers in it. Space isn't brilliant, but it's not bad.

Thanks both. Currently in an iX which is fairly capacious but does have a face only a mother could love.

I was behind a Taycan turismo at the lights the other day. A fine looking thing from the rear (steady!) but certainly a fair bit lower than the iX.

Further contemplation and a potential showroom visit required I think.
