Well, that was an experience!!

I know Wales can be wet, but to go from sunshine, to rain, to snow and hail.... Even had a layer of ice as we came out of the last stage. I've never experienced such changes, except on Mull laugh

All credit to the Marshals, Rescue, Recovery, PCs and all the supporting teams who stood out in that weather and kept everything going in awful conditions.

Unfortunately, the Carlisle Stages have been cancelled due to lack of entries. It was to have been a round of the BRC and the Historic Rally Championship as well as some regional championships.

Anybody know what sort of engine the first car, MK3 Escort is running? Seems very rapid compared to some of the other competitors

The very first Mk3 getting a wobble over the jumps is John Roberts and that'll be N/A Cosworth or Millington powered . Second Mk3 going around the HPL is Lee Edwards which is Jaguar(3ltr Duratec) powered and a really well sorted car , paddle shift etc . Watch some of the on board footage as it drives very differently from a normal RWD Escort because it has so much torque , very drama free inside .

Lee has taken some time to get that car quick. When I spoke to him a few years back it was basically standard with a normal or seq shift. It is a bit tuned now so probably the same power as a Milly about 300 maybe, but he has to reallly look after tyres. He is very very quick, but also very clean, was showing off a bit at the Manx, but he was leading 2wd and 9th overall.

Did a set of rear Michelins in 10 miles once playing to the crowd , driving like a knob with nothing to gain or loose . Every RWD Escort has to look after it's back end to some extent , I would imagine that a V6 would eat less than a BDG ?

The thing is that V6 is very heavy so probably pushes fronts aswell, and torque is far higher than a BD I would think, so maybe a bit more than a 4 cylinder,

Crail north of the border too.

Trying my best for doing fewer events. Plains is next on the list weekend after next. Quite looking forward to a long weekend in Wales.

Some friends are doing comms support for the Plains, they're then heading north for the Argyll.
