I'm getting ready to head up to Leeds to bring my C10 back to London, which will be my first time driving a full EV - actually my first time with a brand new car!

I'm used to using Waze through Android Auto but I understand that the C10 doesn't have it. Is the built in nav any good?

Do you have any other advice or tips for me?

Check they've fully charged it ahead of time, I wouldn't use one pedal mode on the motorway particularly (it takes a little getting used to and if you've got a passenger could make them feel a little seasick!). You'll probably need a stop to charge so plan ahead where, plenty of places on or just-off the motorway, best about 2/3rds of the trip or so and then you can change any settings you find off too! (If you can charge at home don't top up as it's very expensive, put a comfortable amount in to get you home stress-free, don't worry about jams, EV's love them and won't use much power). Stick to 70 or so, if you want economy drop to 65, if you go faster the battery will drop faster. Probably put it in Comfort or Sport rather than Eco, it doesn't actually affect range much but you get better throttle response and steering weight, use heated seats and steering wheel if a little cold in preference to the heater where possible, but it's your car to enjoy so don't overstress on that!

Insurance:

Not covered by current insurer, Admiral, so cancelled policy yesterday. Tesla model Y LR was over £700 pa..

Quotes today:
Direct line £715. Protected 5yr NCB, 300 vol, 300 comp excess.
Quotemehappy same terms over £900
Stellantis Insurance. £78 per month, cancel any time. Includes £750 total excess but paying £4.70 per month to insure excess (ie get it back if paid). Cost delta actually less than 4.70 as the excess insurance was the same cost for £550 total excess but I saved a couple of quid by upping the excess.

Although not the cheapest, I have gone for the Stellantis option. I figure prices will come down at which point I will cancel and change (or get a reduction from Stellantis on the basis I can cancel and change....)

So now I've had it a few days there's a few niggles wondered if anyone could shed any light on.
The custom button on steering wheel; I've set it up on one click to switch off ADAS and set driving mode to Sport.
It does the ADAS part but if on ECO won't switch to Sport. I assume as one pedal driving is on. Seems odd that it won't switch modes.

Also when using Carlink and on a phone call some people say it's quite. Mic is set to car, so not sure what else to do.

The phone unlocking/locking with digital key is very hit and miss. It doesn't seem to work via NFC on wingmirror. Is that a feature we have like the BYD's?

Finally a really nice touch, when fitting the cheapo carmats I notice window breakers in a nice pouch under both front seats.

Collected my big green blob this morning. Overall, I'm impressed, especially for the deal. It's unbeatable taking that into consideration. I'd been considering a nearly new Lexus NX450h which I didn't love at c. £55k and I have no more dislike for the C10 than the Lexus, plus I like having £50k in the bank for what I'd regard as 85% of the car.

The feature/tech package is great. I'm not mad on the ride/handling/brakes; some of the materials do feel a bit cheap - there's no Alpina Lavalina here smile I have no idea what the nav means when it tells me I've 'entered the next administrative region'. However, for a £158/month car for the household I'm very pleased indeed and there's fun ahead in exploring the features.

I can help on one bit and have a question. How do you set the ADAS to that left button on steering wheel, I am not sure how to do that?

I can answer your question about modes though, one pedal trumps all of them so if that is switched on the mode is irrelevant. There should be a fourth mode basically - one pedal driving mode.

Ok. Goto settings, then driving. There's an option to customise steering wheel button.
2 options, 1 click and double click.
There's a video somewhere, I'll see if I can find the link.

Re: driving modes, definitely different regen, steering and acceleration between eco and sport.
There's even a comparison table on the screen too.

I'm picking up my C10 in the morning. Does anyone know if they can arrange the 5 day insurance on the day? I enquired but didn't get an answer and the difference in my insurance quotes for tomorrow vs 5 days time is about £50!

Would be helpful if you find that link.

Re the driving modes do you mean its different regen, steering and acceleration between eco and sport even with "one pedal" switched on? If so thats something I will need to try, I was told it top trumped everything and didn't matter. Will try it out thanks.

I've driven it in eco and sport. I feel there's a big difference.

Did you do Gap and Cosmetic insurance through the dealer, Stellantis, or did you find it yourself?

Also thanks to @jimrod for his helpful comments above.

Just had delivery confirmed from Birmingham North next week. I too had radio silence until recently, when they were in contact with finance docs and asking for first payment.

No got the gap from tidy alloys £99 and cosmetic from ala £226 but tidy alloys did one at £229 but covers bigger damage area up to 40cm but went with the ala as they are 4 claims a year at max £500 per claim over 24 months and ala was unlimited but max cap at £3k and £250 per repair

Silly question. When using the granny charger should the cable going into the car lock or not as it’s not a proper charger?

Just noticed I took mine out when it wasn’t charging but it was plugged in and I didn’t need to unlock it.

Is it different with a proper instavolt etc as it’s carrying more power or am I doing something wrong.

Just a bit concerned I could get in and drive off my drive if it’s not locked, so the car doesn’t know?

It will lock when the car is locked, and you can unplug it when the car is unlocked. Most public chargers will lock in whilst charging, especially Rapids

Theres's a failsafe in EV's that prevents them moving if a cable is plugged in so you shouldnt have any worries there
