Have just found this on the classifieds. The only thing is he mentions lengthening the back end to fit the engine, so would this mean that really it needs an IVA? What do you guys think?

The engine hangs off the gearbox which is attached to the chassis.
There will therefore only be body mods to make room for the engine.
No mods to chassis means no need for IVA.

Just because it does not need an IVA does not mean you are exempt from having to comply with construction and use regulations.

@smash Don't think it's that bad a price considering it has all the glass, if you take a 0 off his price you end up with £280 which wouldn't get you a set of wheels these days. when you think that this one is on ebay right now with no glass and lots more work needed and with bids going over £700 already http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-1970-beetle-b... Maybe £1500 - £2000 for the blue one would have been the right price not £2800
It's just gone back up on ebay for less money must have read these comments

Find one of these. Same era, same base and better looking IMO.

Wouldn't it help if you said what it was?

Think its a Bonito/Seraph, originally Vw, then cortina based, late 70-through 80's by a few companies as the years changed (as is often the case)

Yep, it's a Bonito. Originally designed by Fiberfab in the US and based on Beetle running gear. Later they were moulded in Germany and the UK. Originally moulded by ACM in Poole then by AED in Cornwall and I think they are still made by Seraph but based on Ford. Mine is an AED Bonito from the mid 80's based on a Beetle with a healthy 1776 motor.
