I admit I was a little sceptical from some of the teaser photos but that, that looks...well...stunning. And for the money, wow.
I'm sure Andy at ASM will be pleased, lol! I know it's a different market technically but his exclusivity has just gone out the window with the bath water!
Are we all invited to yours and Steffan's impending nuptials? :-D
This is as a matter of fact the best looking Kit Car I have seen personally in at least 30 years of Kit Car ownership. How Stuart does this kit for the price I simply do not know. But he does and I therefore predict a runaway success for MEV with this car, this year and well into the future. It is frankly, head and shoulders above every other offering in both price and content. In consequence, despite that fact that I currently own more than fourteen Kit Cars and Classic cars, I will be discussing the acquisition of a kit from Stuart at Stoneleigh in a weeks time. SWMBO will have apoplexy but such is life. This is one hell of a car and one hell of an opportunity for Kit car builders! A damned good show by MEV!I'm sure Andy at ASM will be pleased, lol! Yeah sorry, should have just said I really like it instead. I've seen the video this evening on the owners forum and am even more impressed with it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlDfaOJvkKg
I'd love to see what the completed interior panels will look like and how the car will look in different colours.
Having built and being a current owner of a MEV Sonic 7 for 3 years now I'm getting that itch to build again! I'll also own up to the misses owning an MX5 mk2.5 with only 66k on the clock so I'm quite tempted. But to make sure I'm going to the MEV Annual Moger's Meeting at Curborough Sprint track on the 13th July to see the car in action before I make a decision.
Anyone else on here going? I believe its free to spectate just need to be a member of the MEV Owners Forum.

While working on a proper video, I thought I'd release this 10second clip of the car being driven as a tease!

What a beautiful car. Quite magnificent and brilliant value for money. And as that video shows, very, very well, short though it is, the car is a real head turner if ever there was one!
Due to a major cock up in the buying department at tubby towers (Me) I have four kit cars builds, correction five kit car builds on the go currently and five more waiting to be built. These are two Westfields about to be IVA'd, (I succumbed idiot that I am), a Banham Sprite, an RS Turbo Quantum H4, which just got through IVA on the first attempt, on a age related plate, (which I still cannot believe)and a Spridget Sprite which was an MG Midget but now looks more like a Sprite than my old AH Sprite did back in the 1960's and drives somewhat quicker!
Nevertheless when I return from my latest sojourn to Europe I will be visiting Mr Mills emporium to source one of these kits, God willing, I will get one. I cannot see any other kit car currently which delivers the exceptional combination of affordability, ease of build and almost certain reliability given the Toyota underpinnings. The form and simplicity of the build of the car and the ambiance of the 1950's that the finished car produces is just superb. Well done indeed!

Steffan - I thought it was MX5 subframe based (or space frame if you want to go that way) ?
Quite right well spotted it is indeed Mazda MX 5 based but the reliability of both Toyota and Mazda are a legend in themselves. Another senior moment!! I have to say I would be looking for more power I think than the MX5 engine offers but I will leave that discussion until I am at the factory with Mr Mills himself. Experience has taught me that it is all to easy to alter the handling and balance of kit cars without intention to do so by altering the weight and power aspects. In consequence I will discuss every change that might be considered with the mam himself in due course. Roll on finishing the cars that I must complete before I can buy one of these!!I think if I were to do one of these it would have the 2.0l Lexus IS200 straight 6 on throttle bodies in the front of it with a 6 speed box. I know this will mean IVA but would sound really good and be almost correct to the original straight 6. As for colour, metallic dark BRG with light green nose stripes (lipstick) similar to the BD9 race cars. All the best with the next project.
Cheers for the IVA update, I thought the MX5 version could be classed as a body swap but I guess if you are not using the centre chassis beam it is just two subframes. All the more reason to play around with engine swaps.
Wonder what a NA Supra engine would fit like, although the cast iron block would put me off (IS200 engine is all ally which is a bonus). I guess the alternative is to go to the dark side and put a BMW M52 2.8 engine(or even an M3 engine)in it. But it has to be a straight 6 IMHO if it is going to sound as good as it looks!
