Tiger kit car seat mounting

Hi

I have bought these seats (or very similar)

The seats have 4 holes in the underneath into the fiberglass, I can screw the bolts into these but it is obviously not that strong/safe. Looking through the Westy build manual I have I cannot find anything on seat mounting.

Do people usually put rivnuts in the base of the seats?

I have the same seats albeit black and the high side models.

The 4 mounting points are fibreglassed into the base, that's just how they're mounted. I can see why you would think they aren't very strong/safe but they are fine. If the worst was to happen then you/the seat aren't going anywhere as the harnesses will hold you in.

They are surprisingly comfortable too!

with a "real" accident the forces applied will strip the threads out of the seats...of any seats using such a tpye of fixing.

so its up to you choosing this or a similar type of seat or choose something different.

hence, my vote is always for a kirkey.
