Hi,

I have bagged myself a rather unusual vehicle - a Litestar Pulse.

Built in the USA in 1984, the one I have bought has been fitted in 1987 with a motorcycle Honda 1100cc V-4, with custom cooling.

I would love to get this back to it's former glory. I can take care of the cosmetics but It hasn't been run for a number of years and I don't know the first thing about bike mechanics.

Can anyone recommend anyone who can help me get with the mechanical servicing and restoration? Preferably someone in the North - ideally Yorkshire.

The bikes places I have tried are not keen to touch it - so looking for someone who can work on both cars and older bike engines.

If interested in what a Litestar Pulse is, visit http://www.autocycles.org/

Thanks....

I'm probably useless, but wouldn't mind a nosy seeing as you're just round the corner.

Honda never made an 1100 v4, probably a vf 1000 given the age.

Here's the service manual :

Only real difference is the ignition system and that you can have multiple carbs

Sorry, I beg to differ. The Honda ST1100 Pan European was a 1100cc v4. I suspect it is this engine they use, more car like in its delivery than the usual super bikes.

That said, if it was fitted in 1987 it is more like one from a sabre with the V65 engine.

Fairly easy to identify which, ST1100 will be v across the chassis and is shaft driven, V65 is conventional v along the chassis and is probably chain driven.

I should be able to take pics on Wednesday when I take delivery. For now I am just going on the description... But I believe it is the V65.

But I'm not a bike person - I'm just regurgitating what I have read! The numbers are all meaningless to me...

Hence my need to find a workshop that can take this on...
